I have been to the Seychelles with a stop over in Dubai and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW .
We stayed at the Reef Golf Club which isnt there anymore but the whole island is just out of this world.
We opted for a bit of island hopping too ...We went to Praslin, La Digue and Bird Island. Bird Island being the only one that you had to stay over night but again WOW. We have aslo done the Caribbean but no other Island destination can compare to the Seychelles.
We even had lunch on a private island
If you see more than 1 other person on the beach its crowded...Bliss
If you want anymore info on the Seychelles just ask

Flight was 6 hours to Dubai then a further 5 1/2 onto the Mahe
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

It is probably best to use one of the high street agents for something as important as your wedding allthough there are some good ones on the net like
    https://www.seychellesuk.com

As for legal requirements for the wedding you would have to contact either a travel agent or the Seychelles tourist board Fax number Fax: 248 62 06 20 they will send you alsorts of information.

I know its possible we saw a couple in our hotel getting married.
We booked with Thomsons and Hayes and Jarvis both very good but now if I went back I would do it DIY.

There are some very posh hotel dont be tempted by them stay small and not only will you save a fortune but it will by 10 times better

September is probably the best time to go, The tradewinds are starting to die down but will still be around to keep the temp down alittle and it needs it, Its only a few degrees off the equator and gets hot.

Try searching for the island of l'islette ...great for your wedding day its only small (walk round it in 10 minutes) You stand on the shore and a guy comes out with his boat to pick you up the food and the place is pardise.

Found someone elses photos ...honestly the brochures do not lie with this place

If you do consider South Africa, then don't forget that in August it's winter! We went to South Africa in August a couple of years ago and although it was lovely, it wasn't a hot sunbathing weather holiday. More of a "doing things, going out and about weather". Gorgeous country though!

We're going to Italy for our honeymoon as we just can't afford anything else! Hopefully in a couple of years time we'll be able to go to Canada which is where we really want to go!

I would steer clear of the carribbean in august - thats the middle of hurricane season.

If you are looking for that something special the maldives is your best bet, its fantastic. You can island hop relatively cheap so your not tied to the one place. It would be ideal for your hm as its so romantic, you can arrange to have dinner with your hubby floating on a pontoon in the sea. Doesnt sound that appealing but its really worth it, they decorate the pontoon with loads of flowers and candles and set up a table for you. Its wonderful.

Canada is gobsmackingly, jawdropingly (sp?) stunning! Hiring a campervan and driving through the Rockies is the best way to do it and needn't cost too much.
