:) Ha ha, no, didn't really notice much moaning!

Thanks for the info re Amazon vouchers - does sound like a lot of effort for not a lot of reward, to me. I might change my mind if I find myself with some free time, but with a baby coming, I'm not really expecting much of that!

    <£80k will be great! :j
    Managed Mortgage-Free Status: November 2011. :j

So exciting, enjoy the run up !:)

Well mortgage payment come out today which I have again messed up hence the unrounded off number. The quidco money hasn't shown any signs of coming yet so I do feel this will be our MFIT update amount.

    Some analysis;
    Total interest- £103.41
    Daily Interest- £3.34
Total paid off in monthly payment- £354.10
    Balance- £82197
Total paid off since returning to work 3-8-09- £35184
Total paid off this month- £2702

This is good and we are happy with what we have done, is a hard slog tho and we are overpaying quite alot a month but its still not coming quick enough.

Our neighbours wrote us a letter about the hedge and said no to removing it (which I do think is fair enough) tho unfortunately were quite nasty and got another neighbour to sign it as well saying we will not be allowed on their land etc to build the extension (which luckily it has been designed so that this will not be necessary), bit disappointed in the fact we have obviously upset them as that wasn't our intention. We did have a couple of objections when we applied for planning but I had 'believed' it wasn't them that objected as they had an extension a few years ago and we didn't object the theirs, but there you go, I'm now presuming that actually they did object so in effect us asking them for their trees to be removed probably felt like we were rubbing their noses in it. Its done. Think its best now to steer clear of them, regardless they're moving and presumably not talking to us so we really have nothing to lose by proceeding with the build, hopefully this won't be the start of further conflicts during the build. Plan is still to get an interest free credit card tho a little concerned that a builder won't allow payment by this method??? Never had a credit card before so I really have no idea, if not I think reluctantly I may have to skip a couple of mortgage overpayments to get the foundations done as after that we can save money by doing alot ourselves at a leisurely rate, if we wait til were MF we will be in a hurry for it to be built we will have to pay people to do more, plus we will lose our planning permission if we don't start 1 year prior to our MF date.

Bit of a downer but you can only move on, we are very fortunate otherwise in life and this is not our forever house whatever happens so neighbours really are a minor problem in the grand scheme of things.

Still having issues a bit with work, I think I want extra money, not had a payrise for about 5 years and in this time hubby has gone up about 1000 a month so I'm feeling a bit inadequate, will see, I never leave even when I really want to!

Gonna try and do a bargain shop this weekend, haha, watch this space :)

    £82197 - that's a poor effort - what on earth happened ?!?!?!

On a serious note, your attitude to your neighbours is exceedingly mature - I'd have bought a new gun by now...

    Cheers,

haha, that made me laugh, tho i am still a bit annoyed about it all...
I knew you would not appreciate that balance! but I'd end up being overdrawn to balance it out which isn't really worth it, will make sure i don't mess it up next month!

oooh so secretly jealous of your balance, looking forward to the final announcement..wow what an achievement!

I am becoming increasing frustrated with my inability to 'pay off anymore' i feel like i am sitting on a conveyor belt waiting... hmmm need a reality check i think!!

It's a pity about your neighbours. Why can't everyone just be nice! :p I think it's a bit naughty to get the other neighbours to sign it too.

I understand how you feel about not being able to do anymore but come on..wow at your OP's...Credit where credits due. :)

  • Thanks Iris blue I think I was a bit down yesterday, long hard day at work and feel a bit unrewarded and my daughter was in bed before I got in and was feeling a bit sorry for myself. Anyway feeling better, I 'think' I can figure a way to get the foundations done with only missing 1 overpayment... my nan has given me £1000 for no reason at all really so that can act as a spring board. When I have clarified the method exactly I will share the not so devious plan! I intend to do it without actually incurring any interest tho it will temporarily increase the 'total debt'.
We are officially nearly £1400 ahead in the Mfit challenge, so I will then have a couple of months to catch up so I can make sure I am still green in december! That will be tough but would be great to start the new year in the green.
Actually got accepted for a valued opinions survey- they don't seem to like my computer much, theyre the only ones (except yougov obviously) that I havent got anything back from, might give them a knock on the head once I get my first reward!
    Apologies for the whinging!

A scheme is afoot! Love it!

Gave up on valued opinions and such a while ago for reasons I can't properly remember. I think I may have been spoiled by one that gave out £75 for a single 50 minute survey. If anyone asks, I'm a G.P. and perfectly qualified to discuss the pros and cons of new drug regimens...

    Cheers,
