How about this method? Bond the bump to the nice fabric ie one that is visible. Divide into the exact sections corresponding to the cheap Argos blind. Steam iron the sections and sew lightly along lines on inside. Fold sides and bottom and oversew neatly. Might work Romans are a bit of a mystery!

    Me again!

I have some made-to-measure roman blinds in my kitchen which are ivory linen. They have become stained over the years and have some orange water stains too. I had them dry cleaned but no better really. The blinds are in excellent condition and the cream lining on the back is perfect. I thought I might try to dye them but I'm not sure the linen would take the dye too well and once i've done it I've also dyed the lining. I was wondering how easy it would be to buy some new fabric and cover the stained fabric, hemming it nicely on the back leaving the nice cream lining as it is?

I'm hopeless with a sewing machine so would have to find someone to do it.

    What do you think?

make sure all your lines are straight - I usually draw them on the fabric - they will be covered in tape so you wont see them. Pin too before you sew. There should be online instrcutions available - I used to use the tape that you sew along the back that has the space for the rod and for the strings.

I remember making one several years ago for our old bathroom and I bought a kit with all the battens etc from John Lewis I think it was. Worked very well and stayed up for years till we moved.

I have a book on making blinds, curtains, and other soft furnishings. They're not difficult to make, you just need to be accurate in measuring, cutting and sewing ;) Possibly try the library?

I'll add this to the existignt thread.
