yes the "free to a good home" deal seems to have disappeared lately.
these days it's Kittens - £40 each
fair enough I suppose, it does cost a few quid to rear them to that stage
a lot of things that used to be free, aren't any moresquaaaaaaaaacccckkkkkk!!!! :money:0 -
Try the local RSPCA, Cats Protection League or animal shelter - all will probably be very glad to home one of their animals.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0

I used to look for a pet (kitten or cat) from charities but much to no avail- if you do not take them in pairs they refuse you, sad but true (unless that was just the ones close to me (though does make me somewhat less sympathetic towards them as I have had 3 solo cats in my life- two of them lived together but after 5 years of them fighting (brother and sister) we had to separate them. Not all cats like being in pairs!!
If your not wanting two, try the petshop boards in local pet food stores, they often advertise there.
Also check gumtree and local newspaper classified sections. I think although cats do mate all year, their main breeding time is April to October.0 -
Please try the rescues, I know there are kittens in the Worcs area as my friend got one last weekend from the cats protection to keep her other rescue cat company whilst she is at work.
There are lots of other older cats looking for forever homes too - real characters:DSealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

This site has a list of cat rescue shelters and you can search by area. I was going to suggest petfinder.com but then I realised it's in the US, haha.Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0 -

Pets4homes and KittenList are 2 more sites, Just make sure the kittens are over 8 weeks old, any younger and they shouldn't be leaving mum yet.
There aren't alot of kittens about at the moment, as another poster said, its really the wrong time of year. i know of a few people that have mating or pregnant cats, but litters wont be ready till April at the earliest!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0
