Morning all....fffffreezing here..more snow on way too...
Bun-the butterflies are multi coloured..I'll pop them in the post...think I have about 3 packs...
Love the blue/pink jobs....unfortunately having a husband who (used to) work away a lot, ALL jobs had to be pink...my task now is to redesignate a few...bin=blue, hedges=blue, cars=blue, plumbing etc=blue
I've topped up enough oil/steering fluids/screenwash for a lifetime!Debt-free...and staying that way...0 -
actually I got him to do the autism test online and he now accepts that he is autistic...although we don't know what to do about it.
just read this and its my OH to a t..
Asperger's has been described as the extreme of male thinking, says Dr. Rutger Jan van der Gaag, a professor of clinical psychiatry at Radboud University Nijmegen in The Netherlands. "Very much detail, very little empathy."
I honestly think that most men are on the Autistic sprectrum at some level, maybe we all are? My OH is terrified of doing simple things like ordering a takeway by phone or ordering at a drive through, he also dislikes social gatherings and fretts about what he will talk about before he gets there. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Sammy but at least he realises that he is autistic. thats a huge step in itself!
Is there anything that you need to do about it? I mean if he copes ok and you're happy then I wouldn't worry...although I know he drives you slightly potty at timesI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Sadly there is VERY little help for, or even willingness to diagnose, adults on the autism spectrum (and also almost no help for those that live with them) Sammy. And I have found from experience that the 'help' tends to be sporadic and inflexible...not to mention the hoops you have to jump through to get it.
The BEST thing you can both do is to arm yourself with information, the more you read about it, the more you will understand him, and the more he will understand himself, and trust me, that does make life so much better.
We have no help for Ryan other than his school support worker now. He isn't even under CAMHS any more - they were doing absolutely nothing for him other than send me letters expressing their disappointment that I hadn't attended their monthly parent group (which is in the town centre, on a weekday evening...errr....transport/parking/CHILDCARE!!! And !!!!!!, autism is very probably genetic - so how many parents do they think want to walk into a room full of other people they don't know, and force themselves to socialise?! :rotfl:).
I realised after years of not understanding the system, and feeling stressed, unhappy and pretty useless, that *I* am the expert on Ryan's condition, and I know what he needs, not someone sat in an office 8 miles away who once read a book about someone who knew someone whose son had a girlfriend who had Aspergers."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

ALDI's own were MUCH nicer. Disappointed
I think that Aldis bakery produce is such good quality, we love their chocolate brioche, not tried their Hot X Buns though. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
I feel a little traumatised. :eek:0

Its not as if we need help Sally....I did jokingly say I could perhaps apply for a carers allowance at the weekend and was quite stunned to find a magazine dealing with autistic children in Smiths.....he is laughing about it and it appears someone told him last week that people in IT tend towards the autistic spectrum.
I honestly don't mind, but when we got out and he has his little twitches, OCD moments I am quite used to it but people do look at us oddly.....i hate it when people think he is an idiot...when he isn't.
Its the deep rooted anxiety that I feel difficult to cope with....he still thinks his balls are about to drop off and he is off to his weekly appointment at the docs...this will continue till he has worked his way through the medical tests and he has got the all clear. I am convinced that this is because of Andrew Lloyd Webber and his pancreatic cancer.

Morning all,
I feel as though I've got out of bed on the wrong side - I'm snapping at everyone!
My OH has tasks to do when he's home, clean the bathroom and make the bed. He occasionally makes me lunch/tea. But other than that, I do everything. Oh to have a little house boy!
Buuny, I LOVE Aldi hot cross buns.
I really need to focus on my essay but in all honesty, I can't seem to find the motivation.0 -
