Find a more realistic price range. You don't need to spend that amount of money on a ring. As gorgeous and amazing as Im sure it is, there are some beautiful rings out there for less than half that price.

Other than that.. save hard! Good luck x
  • I guess saving is too much of an easy option?

The only other things you could do is sell your body or find a ring that suits your budget

  • You like this ring, but do you know if SHE will like it as much as you do? That's a heck of a lot of money to spend on something she might not even like, and after all, she'll be the one wearing it.

If it were me I'd never feel comfortable wearing a ring of that value, I'd be terrified of losing it and it would live in a safe, not on my finger.

I'd look around a bit, you will probably find something in a lower price range.
  • 12k!!!??!!! If you are were my other half i would go crazy at you wasting that kind of money on a ring!!

I believe traditionally a ring should cost a months wages. So unless you're earning nearly 150k a year then that is a ludicrous amount to spend on a ring! I agree that I would have gone crazy at him spending that amount. Do you mind me asking how old you are and how long you've been together?
  • Lucky her. I would be worried i lost it so i got one that was 5k for maplin and webb its an oval cut solitaire i love it

What a ridiculous waste of money! If she really loves you and wants to marry you it won't marry if its a 21k ring, a £200 ring, a plastic ring from a christmas cracker or a hula hoop.

Wouldn't that money be better spent on starting your life together as part of a house deposit or a uni fund for future children?
  • I wouldnt marry anyone who gave me a hula hoop. My b/f at primary school did that and he was dumped lol

I would think that if your fiancee sees that you can afford to buy a £12k engagement ring, she will expect a wedding of equal extravagance.

Best to work out what you can afford, rather than how to fund what you obviously cannot afford, otherwise you would not be asking the question!!

Thats a crazy amount for a ring! I'd be scared of losing it... Or someone else noticing how sparkly it is and how much better It'd look on them :o
    I was gutted at losing 1 half of a £400 set of earings... A 12k ring I couldn't contemplate!

    Unless your mega rich! :D
