Whatever the fault I'm betting it isn't going to be serious. Does it start when cold? Does the engine turn, but not fire?0

im only suggesting this as it is a dealer,if it was a private sale then you would have no chance....work permit granted!0 -
lol was looking through the ebay feed back on that seller:bought thongs 1 pair crotchless!!!!, baby clothes and womens clothes: he/she/shim bought all of 3 car parts for a escort rs/rs2000, and sold some alloy wheels and bought 1 pair of mens jeans. i wouldnt say this ummm person is an online trader of motor vehicles, and the van may have been a "test" to see how it fairs up.
but my bet is that that account is someone's misses account.0 -

But he owns a shop called AKA cars, its where i met him to get van.
As for seriousness of problem, its currently in a local garage, and they belive it to be down to the fuel pump timing. A new pump costs £300-£700!!
Could someone help me word a letter to the trader?0 -
your best bet would be to get advice from trading standards about the situation of buying it from ebay and then purchaseing it at his place of trade. as it was bought through ebay and not his place of trade i think this would be considered a private sale, although in the description of the ad he posted he did not list there was a problem with the van and described it as a 'workhorse' you could take this two ways 1. its a great runner never failed or 2. its done its job well and now its used and abused.
i think the fact you bought the van at his place of works is relatavely minor as it wasnt purchased through his place of works oficially.
if it is fuel pump timeing then cant the garage re-time the pump? before going down the route of replaceing it. then ask the seller if he'd be prepared to pay 50/50 of the work. if he refuses you either take it to small claims or take the hit. but if youve allready had a negative reply i doubt he'll be willing. you need trading standards advice or CAB in this case i think, if cab thinks you have a case they will help you put a letter to the seller.0
