Nicotine Inhalers/Pretend Cigarrettes when flying

Perhaps smokers should show a bit more respect to those who don't smoke and realise that you chose to start smoking - Don't cry when the world doesn't bow at your feet and the NHS falls hand over foot to help you stop.
And if you believe the Daily Mail sensationalist hype about the NHS being on its knees if it wasn't for smokers then you are even more deluded than i first thought.
You smoke = Your problem.
Yes, nobody holds a gun to anyone's head forcing them to smoke. Ditto alcoholics, junkies......So, we'll leave them all to their own devices and deny them the help that might make them as adequate as the "superior" type, shall we?
Daily Mail sensationalism? There is none so blind as he who will not see. I wouldn't castigate anyone for that inadequacy either - even though short-sighted = your problem.0 -

Yeah i think we should - Put the money to those who can't get life saving Cancer drugs because the NHS is busy propping up Junkies/Smokers/Alcoholics.
Fab idea.The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
Still unsure
So I'll just have to 'suck it and see'

I would be really interested to know if anyone has the answer to this. I have given up using the plastic inhaler which you insert a nicotine capsule in. I wouldn't want to "smoke" one on the plane but would like to keep some capsules and the inhaler in my hand luggage incase I get a craving when I am on holiday. Maybe different airlines have different policies, I am flying easyjet, will try to find out and if I do I'll post.0

Yes Ryanair sell them on the plane 6 euros a packet. Never tried them though. The funny thing is when I do long haul I know I cant smoke and I dont crave for one.
Me too...in general in situations where I know I can't smoke, it's not a problem. It's when I know I COULD smoke, in theory, but cannot for a specific reason that it's an issue.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I flew with US Airways when quitting 3 years ago and took the inhaler and nicotine capsules with no problems.0

I fly Thursday so I'll let you know0

The only way to get a definate answer to this question is to contact American Airlines.
While people on a web forum may be able to contribute experience and opinion, it is really irrelevant until you know what the policy is with the airline you are flying.
I'm sure this is nothing a quick email couldn't sort out0 -
Out of curiosity;
is the 'vapor' from the inhaler bad for other peoples health since it contains nicotine? I know the smoke does the damage given the tar in it etc. but surely the nicotine element isn't too friendly?
Surely it could trigger other peoples cravings, particularly those who smoke but don't one of these e-cigarettes on the plane. Given it is still second hand smoke of sort.0
