Nicotine Inhalers/Pretend Cigarrettes when flying

Options
On American Airlines to USA can you use an inhaler (nicotine) or pretend cigarette's onboard.

The plastic nicotine inhaler has a capsule inside (I was going to take a pack of 6 capsules in unbroken packet) and the Cigarette isn't one that lights up or smokes, it just tastes of tabacoo.

Can't seem to find if it's allowed on the web.

Many thanks.

Ryanair sell some fake cigarettes which sound vaguely similiar. I didn't try them, and I didn't see anyone else try them, as i was very curious what people sat close to the "smoker" might say.

No smoke, or smell. no real difference from a medical inhaler. As long as the "capsules" are under the liquid on planes rule and you use it in your seat discretely, I really cant see it being a problem.

I don't use the E Cigarette, I think that one looks likes it's lit and does have a vapour coming out of it.

I use a plastic lookalike cigarette that dosn't do anything.

Yes Ryanair sell them on the plane 6 euros a packet. Never tried them though. The funny thing is when I do long haul I know I cant smoke and I dont crave for one.Might be different though if people were using electronic ones.

If someone is incapable of going without a cigarette for the duration of a flight, I really would suggest contacting your GP.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Flew Monarch a few times last year and they say in their pre fight announcement that electronic cigarettes are banned

Do you/have you ever smoked? I've recently kicked the habit after smoking for a very long time. I can tell you that going without a cigarette, even on short haul flights, is miserable for a smoker. Not sure where going to see a GP comes into the equation? i.e. my GP did absolutely nothing to assist me in giving up smoking. Perhaps too busy treating more deserving cases? Maybe non-smokers should show a little more tolerance and understanding towards those who are addicted to the weed. After all, without them and the taxes they pay, the NHS would be totally on its knees - then the holier-than-thou brigade would really have something to chew over and make spiteful remarks about.

Perhaps smokers should show a bit more respect to those who don't smoke and realise that you chose to start smoking - Don't cry when the world doesn't bow at your feet and the NHS falls hand over foot to help you stop.

And if you believe the Daily Mail sensationalist hype about the NHS being on its knees if it wasn't for smokers then you are even more deluded than i first thought.

    You smoke = Your problem.
