Passport countersignature help

Am in the process of getting a new passport but i've stumbled across quite a big problem. I can't find anyone to countersign it. I've looked though the suggested list and can say there is no-one in any of those professions that i know and/or who has known me for 2 years.

How strict on check are they? And is there anyway around this? last had a passport about 10 years ago and i think my then GP signed it then, but i moved away for uni and haven't been back since. And my current GP has only know me for just under a year. My last hope was a uni tutor but she's vanished off the face of the earth. Has anyone else had this problem?

It will be impossible to get a passport without a counter signature. The only way round this is if you can get a renewal and even then you have to look like your old photo.
I would suggest you try it on with the Dr, he might just sign it without question.

No, you can have your hair any colour you like so long as the style doesn't affect certain parts of your face.

All you really need is a professionally employed friend of your parents... the catergories are much wider than they used to be.

The post office asked if I knew anyone who was a manager, and I remembered my next door neighbour was a store manager at Burtons so he did it for me.
