Hiya, we are all not so busy but you can cancel the listing if you are not happy. That way it will stop you getting nothing for your stuff. Good luck.0

It also has the advantage of irritating people who may be keeping an eye on your auctions for a snipe bid. Once you start annoying your potential buyers it saves a fortune in packing materials and postage costs :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm doing ok but I think it's because I sell using BIN so it doesn't matter when my items sell. I sell nail products, and I suppose what with holidays and parties and bbq's etc people want pretty nails more than ever.0

Too many sales on at the moment and everyone already has what they need for the summer....people cannot think ahead on ebay so go hunt yourself a winter coat at a bargain price, just don't sell one. Think of things you are buying right now and they are the things that will sell.
I've had a shocking week and will be shutting shop for a month and will be back on mid august with suitable school clothing ready for back to school.0 -

As I said in my previous posts I've always found july and august to be very quiet for all the obvious reasons of people being away on hols and basically being away from the computer in general and spending their money out of the house not at home on-line.
In previous summers (this is my 6th ebay summer) I've been wary about doing my normal ebay listing of 40+ items per week in case they didn't sell and I'd be wasting my time and ebay fees so I'd only list around 20 things that I didn't really have any high expectations for and hope for the best.
This summer I had a think about this and realised that it was a self-fullfilling prophecy and I had never tried to 'trade through' the slow time regardless just to see what would happen.
So
For the past 3 weeks I have shaken myself out on my summer doldrums and listed 40+ items as normal as an experiment with the idea that I would try and disprove my own theory that I sell badly in the summer.
The result is pretty good, I've sold about 3/4 of the amount that I would expect to sell at any other time and although there weren't any interesting bidding wars a good many items had more than one bidder so the prices realised were about 3/4 of what I'd epxect too - the most glaringly obvious thing that I'd missed in previous summers is that the Australians aren't on summer holiday, they are all home, sat at the computers buying English china - off me!0 -
samanthaknd wrote:I always start mine at 1p and mine sell way more than expected last week I sold 42 items giving me £123.00. i think people just like the 1p starts for some reason. I for one do. and almost always avoind anything above 1p starts
Hi I can understand your concern because you don't want the items to go for nothing, you can still cancel the sale up until 12 hours do that before anyone bids, you can still cancel the sale at any time. Good luck. I am selling bits and pieces but the sales have been slow for the summer.0
