ebay quiet at the moment :-(, 99p starts......erm

finger biting stuff this

I almost always start my items at 99p and let bidders do the work,
almost always i get the going rate for the stuff

today i'll admit that i'm a little worried, most of my items end in less than 16 hours and most are still at 99p!!!, including a brand new games console

what's going on i wonder..................
money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Remember most people wait until the last minute to bid.

  • This is my 6th ebay summer and it's always like this, the first year I worried, the second year less so and now I just shrug and keep my best stuff till September. It's called the summer slump in our house.
  • Couldn't agree more - the summer is definitely the time to bag yourself a bargain; postpone the selling until the Autumn if possible.

I just need to shift a few odds and sods and then I will start afresh Sept/Oct.
Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.

This is the summer slump after the spring downtime and just before it gets slow in the winter.

Actully I was doing very well, but have closed up now ready for my holiday...and I can't believe how relaxing it is not to have to wrap parcels half the day, although I did get one of the dreaded 'hi, my item hasn't arrived' emails this morning..

I'm not as brave as bleugh though and don't do 99p starts.

The 99p thing only works on certain items- those that are highily desireable.I never do this now as I have lost out to last minute snipers who blag themselves a bargain at the last minute.
Sometimes just putting the item in at the price you want works better , then all you need is one bid and thats it ! I put an item on at £9.99 and it never sold relisted it at £14.99 and it sold ! You could als try the buy it now option with best offer, especailly as it is only 5p on thursday.
Its strange when you go on holiday - I kind of pace around for the first few days suffering from ebay withdrawl, automatically feeling I have something to post, check, or email buyers ! I hate going abroad then finding the hotel has internet access as I get SOOO tempted to just check my account. Sad.

oh cat...I went to the Caribbean at Christmas and was fine for the first week but admit I did log in on the second week as I started to panic that someone may have had a problem and left me a neg! What I would have done about it thousands of miles away I don't know, but I couldn't rest until I had double checked.

    Daft isn't it!
