  • Thanks Snags & Squizz. The porblem is I own(ed) no trainers. These are what I live in all day everyday, and before that pair it was a pair of D&G skaters. As i wear them in my job I cant really attempt to run in them yet. Anyways when I brought them I also brought these (ladies) as they were heavily reduced as I planned to use these as every day too. Well I never did and wore them around the house for an hour before running in them today. Obviously a bad idea!

The problem I have is I got real wide feet, but really small/short feet too. Becky said somthing about buying mens trainers but they arnt avaliable in a 5/5.5? I dont know what to do now? I supposed going to a shop and trying them on would be a good idea but I dont know where to start. Also this will sound wird but it felt like I was running on the sides of my feet today, as if the trainers didnt have a big enough 'bed' for me to run on. Unlike wellies and skaters :rotfl:

Next planned run is Wednesday Shrug_by_melonhead_emotion.gif

It may be that you just need to get used to running in something other than wellies...rather than running in them why don't you just wear them out for a walk for the next couple of times....and get some compeed for your blisters. I always get blisters when I wear new footwear of any kind...

There will be trainers to fit you Pap, don't worry - but your best bet is to find a proper running shop, rather than a high street sports shop. I think I know roughly where you live, although you can PM me if you want - I will have a look and see if I can find a shop near to you that might be able to help.

Edit - is this one anywhere near?

Looks like they do gait analysis, and remember, you don't have to buy the trainers from them, just make a note of their recommendations and look online for the cheapest prices (although I ended up buying mine there and then because the staff were so friendly and helpful).

You should be able to get boys/ juniors in a 5/5.5 Pap which might be a bit wider.

Pap - its usual to need a size bigger anyway and they do make mens trainers in 6 - but i really think you need to try some styles on as you only tend to get blisters from too small shoes (as long as you are wearing socks ;))

Thanks Sammy. The problem is its not blisters, the trainners have actually rubbed all the skin off my heels. I guess I could try walking in them for a few days to see if it helps... Something to think about :D

Hi Snaggs, yes I have found that one and this one. However they will laugh me out of the shop. I am in no way a runner, I have never ran on a treddie and how can you go in and say umm 'I have ran all of 10 times all but one in wellies' :rotfl: maybe I will just persevere with the ones I have now and see if things improve :D

No, they wont sweetie. That's all in your head. I very much doubt they would have laughed the 'old' you out of the shop, but they certainly wont laugh the 'new' you out. Why would they - you're the same size as me, and they don't laugh at me (not openly, anyway :rotfl:).

Thanks Squizz and Becky. I think I will either persevere with the ones I have or go to a shop and try on loads. I never knew you may need a bigger size shoe for running, wow! I was indeed wearing socks Becky, I suppose you have learnt from yoru mistake ;)
