Thanks Squizz, Spud and Bunnny :T However it was the worst run ever, period! Used the same field as Saturday, managed only 5 1/2 laps yet did 7 3/4 on Saturday. I think that was more to do with worrying about what my feet were doing and not concerntrating on my breathing. I now have no skin on my heels and the outside of my left foot stung while running. Back to wellies for the time being I think
Ahh well at least I got ot there :j
Sally, could you come on the train if it snows really badly?

Pap, maybe your trainers aren't quite the right fit for you? You might not notice whilst walking, but for running, it's more important to get some that fit well.
I would try not to run in wellies as they wont absorb enough of the impact and your joints will take a real hammering (I'm sure some of the proper runners can fill in more technical reasons why the right footwear is important, but I will just go with 'running in wellies hurts your knees', lol).
I struggled on with the wrong trainers for a few months as couldn't really afford any more, and nearly gave up running because of ankle pain.
Had my gait analysed at a proper running shop, got the right trainers (spent £50, but there were some for £38 if I'd been less fussy about what they looked like) and haven't had an injury of any kind, barring the odd blister, since then. Even if you run lots, and have to buy a couple of pairs a year, it's still a pretty cheap hobby. :T
Well done for getting out and doing it though - you will have good days and bad days, but the good runs, when you feel like you never want to stop, MORE than make up for the ones where you struggle round and go home early."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Well done you
Agree with Snaggles about the trainers, sounds like they could be a bit tight. And don't worry about the odd bad day - everyone has them whether it's their first run or their thousandth! I'm excited-I'm meeting one of my friends from high school in Birmingham tomorrow night for a meal out!
We found each other through FB and she lives in Holland now but is coming to B'ham for a trade fair. Cool eh? DH and I were saying the other day how strange it is the amount of our friends that are now living in Europe!Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
