Turkey Chilli with chocolate, vats of, in SC, smells yummy.
Chilli & chocolate in the same dish  am I reading this right??
DD1's room I need a miracle. She is going to Paris on Sunday and I tentatively asked her if she wanted the enormous basket of washing in her bedroom washed in time for her trip. The answer was, of course, yes. That's me chained to the washing machine for another day:(
Make half an hour for YOURSELF!!! - FAT CHANCE OF THAT TODAY
Why don't you get DD2 to deal with the washing herself as the machine finishes? As long as you sort it before to make sure there are no accidents with her clothes :rotfl: or get DD2 to do her room herself to let you have your half hour - you must do this or you wont get a star:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

What is turkey chilli with chocolate??
Ruth
That's the recipe title in Sara Lewis slow cooker cookbook. I have always put a square or two of dark chocolate in my chillies, it gives them a lovely rich colour and taste. Now my tum is acting up I can't eat red meat so have been using turkey mince instead and was delighted to see this recipe in one of my many cookbooks, the mix of spices is slightly different to usual and I think it will compliment the turkey well.
Turkey chilli with chocolate serves 4, 8-10 hours in standard size slow cooker (as mine is large I made double the quantity and cook for same length of time)
1 tablespoon sunflower oil,
500g (1lb) turkey mince
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped,
1/2 - 1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds, roughly crushed
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon plain flour
410g (13 1/2oz) can red kidney beans drained and rinsed
400g can chopped tomatoes
450ml (3/4 pint) chicken stock
1 tablespoon tomato puree
25g (1 oz) dark chocolate, chopped
salt and pepper
Brown mince and onion in pan with oil, add galic, spices and flour and give a stir, then add all other ingredients, bring to boil and bung in slow cooker.
Economical too, 500g turkey mince from Mr A - £1.60. If you don't have a slow cooker, a good long simmer on the hob would work just as well.

Afternoon all!
Happy Birthday Choccy - hope you have a fab day.
Still not feeling great - had another night with a fever, so slept badly - ended up getting up at about 2am and going downstairs to nap on the sofa for a bit to give the sheets time to dry out. Apparently the fever part of the flu can last for 5 days, so fingers crossed that tonight I'll sleep well. The cough part is really frustrating as it's given me a really sore throat now too, and I feel like I've been doing 100 sit-ups every day. My stomach is rock hard from all of the coughing.
Moon is off today as it's his normal day off, and he's been looking after me. He's bringing me tea and has brought me lunch. Little black furry is staying on the bed with me too.
Moon has been doing some of the washing as I've had to change my nightie every night and I'm running out. Have showered and washed my hair and got into clean, dry pjs, so feel a bit more human.
Hugs for all with colds and bugs.
Thank you to pigpen and tootles for allowing me to be on the sick list.
