Huge hugs Ishtar - sending healing vibes for your Mum
Well done on your bargaining Leed
Well held an extremely successful meeting in the pub round the corner but I'm pooped. It was the first meeting of a group of individuals who hadn't met together before and a total cross section of the community (but some of whom knew some of whom etc.) to organise a summer fair. I was in the chair so had to try and bond the group. I think I succeeded.
At one point, it was extremely amusing from an outside perspective. We ended up playing an unplanned game of top trumps regarding celebs to open the fete. Someone mentioned someone, someone else mentioned someone else. I held top trump momentarily when I mentioned a local radio celeb.
Then the youngest of the group (he's about 17 I guess) quietly piped up "Well the actress Mrs X is a family friend - she's away at the moment but I could probably get her to come and she wouldn't charge..."
Jaw drops all round!
Never, EVER discount having a young person on a planning group - they may just hold that top trump!
I'm glad I put dinner in the oven before I left for the meeting - it went on longer than I expected. And I'm also glad I did a bit extra. DD said when I got home that it smelt gorgeous and on asking said yes to a portion. It's chicken bits cooked on a bed of rice in the oven, v. slowly.
Off to serve it up...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Been a lonnnnnnnnng boring day at work, found jobs to keep me occupied but I hope it is busier tomorrow.
Heard that friend's DD (the one with a brain tumour) is doing well, they are trying not to deliver her baby before 38 weeks nowwas going to be delivered at 32 but they are pleased with her progress and will try to keep her going to 38. Then they will proceed with treatment for the tumour, so thanks for all your positive vibes for her a while ago, if you have any spare can we send her some more please.

cazzab delete all the extras and just do the lists or vice versa - dont be putting yourself and DH under pressure to get all that done at the weekend

Thank you - I know I do leave things until they get too much then try to do it all at once. This pregnancy is starting to tire me out at the mo - think my iron levels are low, must book a blood test. Also like to spend time doing something together with the kids at the weekend - and then there's dance class, followed by a party and all of the usual weekend stuff. But its half term next week so I'm off work!!!:jMammy to 3 gorgeous children.0 -

Gratefulforhelp - Congratulations, when are you due, was it planned? a surprise? I love wee babies, how far on are you?
SoappieB - Well done on your meeting, sounds like in the end it went well, and you sound liek you done fabulous by the sound of it!!OMG I really can't believe this is me! Last night picked up DD2 from her club at 8pm and it was really cold and had been snowing. My usual response would be to get a cup of tea and snuggle up in bed, but instead I went and continued clearing my bedroom! Then first thing this morning I got up, stripped the bed, washed it and have now just re-made the bed after hoovering it and just for luck doing the floor again! So finally,
a star for me please Toots!!!
I was like this as well and DH asked what is a bin bag dance and a 30 fling boogie, and when I told him he was like where did this all come from, when I told him he said, yeah right you run about like a maddie cleaning and everyone laughs at you whilst sitting on the net!!! (MEN - WHAT DO THEY KNOW EH?)funfairprincess wrote: »
I met him once horrid man!Hi all
I am still here!! Not done a thing flying-wise today (or yesterday for that matter....). I've been busy with visiting and being visited. Mum came over today...she's not doing too well as she's been referred to the oncology dept at the hospital (has appointment on Monday). They need to do a biopsy as she's been bleeding and an ultrasound turned up something that 'wasn't quite right'. So, as you can imagine, she's quite frightened about what they might find (and I am too, truth be told, but I'm trying not to worry until there's something to worry about).
Good luck vibes for tomorrow, hope you get the news you want to hear:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
