  • Welcome aboard savingholmes

Received my tesco clubcard vouchers today, £10 in total. I will probably exchange them for cinema tickets and then bank the money saved when I use them. The change jar totalled £3.97, now only £4.38 to find to pay off the choice debt. I also managed to list an item on ebay last night, only one on buy it now, but it's a start :D

I also sent off for a free sample of lip cream and washing tablets. Might save me a bit of money in the long run.

I have found the £2 coins stash good for me. Think theres a thread on here about it somewhere. Simple really. If I get a £2 coin I keep it - will do anything to keep it - and save it in a change jar. Yes OK I keep other change and regularly empty my purse (so far it stands at £211 or so in the jar after about 4 months) but its collecting the £2 coins that really makes me feel like I am making a difference..I think its partly cos I can remember life before them ! and also cos they are like the chocolate money you get in a Christmas stocking!

  • Thanks for the tip brizzle, I have just started to collect my first £2 coin and will keep up with collecting them, I will look out for the thread on that.

I have also just placed my first matched bet for a long time and hopefully by the end of the weekend I should make an extra £18.

I am all fired up with ebay at the moment too as I have been looking how motorbike boots/trousers have been selling and they are doing quite well. So I am going to make a start with those and list them tonight. Fingers crossed I can make enough to pay off choice and littlewoods by the end of Feb ;).

hi Karenlyth..yes I'd say they do. OK depends on what your 'thang' is but I sold a Hobbs handbag, for example, for about 50% of what I originally paid for it last month. OK - should never have paid that in the first place but as I never used it its better to have the money than an unused bag. Clothes can be hit and miss in my experience but am about to just list some more. The main thing is good photos oh and a good positive rating. Best of luck

  • Welcome aboard Karenlyth. I have some clothes too, I have always found that bundles seem to do quite well. I think if you have to pay postage for something then bidders prefer a bundle of clothes as the lot seems more of a bargain (if that makes sense :().

I have been having a good clean up this morning, and been food shopping, spent £47.40 which should see us through most of the week and it includes tonights curry and a lovely bottle of wine. I don't usually go to Asda, but I found it very good value. This afternoon we all took the dog for a long walk, good free entertainment and exercise at the same time. Only expense was £2 for two icelollies for the boys. How can they eat them in this cold weather!!

Got back to find my matched bet has made a profit of £13.17, not quite the £18 that I was expecting, but I forgot about the commission I had to pay. But not bad considering it is free money. On the downside, the £86 I won on bingo looks as though I won't be able to cash out. It looks as though I won it with bonus money and if that's the case it can't be taken out and has to be played with . Just as it was looking so good. Never mind hopefully the ebay sales will go better and I could still pay choice off.

  • Good news I just updated my signature as I made a few regular payments off the debt this week and after checking the balances the debt is down by £164.26, no overpayments as yet but maybe by the end of next week I can pay a bit off in overpayments.

  • Quiet day for me today, DH is working his 12 hour day shift, but left me a beautiful card before leaving for work. We will celebrate valentines next weekend when he is off work for the weekend. I am going to cook us all a lovely beef dinner today and do a bit of ironing.

25p and 10p on the scratchies this morning and I have a bid on one of my items on ebay, it ends this evening so I will update you later on how it went. I will look for some more items to list today on ebay and look for another matchbet for this week.
