Well not the Corsa because firstly these are overpriced as its still relatively new model, and there are signs the price is crashing, also a lot on the road and won't hold value well

Not Hyundai I20 because the price was increased for scrappage alone, there is an order book and like the Corsa the market will be swamped with them once all our countries fine council estate specimans realise they couldnt afford a new car and the finance companies start reposessing them.QUOTE]

never mind the spelling, but this is a truly disparaging statement.

Used car prices are quite high IMO, been looking around and they are asking 5k or so for a car thats 5yrs old, whereas if i opted for a city car i would get one for less than 6k, brand new.
I have been looking and quite frankly my head is all mush, i find a car i like and you can be guaranteed loads of people think that the car is rubbish and loads think they are good
As for Hyundai, there showroom was really busy compared to all the others.

The car i am after is new, it doesnt have to be super quick as most of the time i am in the city, i dont care about motorway journeys as i have a toyota people carrier already, which is poor on the mpg, but still, would only use it out of town.
I am finding dealers will not budge on prices apart from Toyota who said once you have made your mind up come back to see if we can better the price, some salesman are dicks and cant be bothered, ie the fiat dealer i visited, they had no enthusiam, couldnt be bothered, could you imagine them with aftercare, be a nightmare.

Must admit i was impressed with hyundais, could see why they were busy, cars looked ok, interior was better than i was expecting and pricing and warranty is good.

prices i have had so far, some not on my list

    micra visia 5 door £7200
    pixo accenta £5745
    fabia level 1, £6600
    hyundai i10 £4995
    hyundai i20 5 door £6999
    peugot 107 5 door £7000
    peugot verve 107 £7500
    yaris 1.0t2 5 door £8200
    corsa sxi 5 door £8000

We do about 4-5 thousand miles a year, I have looked and is confused, I basically can get the following cars for roughly the same price.

I have looked and in order of looks (how sad am I)

    Corsa
    Yaris
    Hyundai i20
    Peugot 207
    Micra
    Pixo

Which would you go for and why, BTW my wife likes the micra the best.

If it is a new Pixo, I've heard from a friend that he was quoted of waits to at around September for them unbelievably! They are the same as the Suzuki Alto anyway, and the Micra feels better quality inside.

I might be tempted by the Yaris but I dislike the dashboard, but out of them probably shades it as my choice over others. Have you considered anything else- VW Polo, Fiesta, Fabia or are they too expensive?

too expensive is the fiesta, fabia 1 is in my reach at 6600 but not much kit, polo i think is out of my reach.
I have 7.5k + 2k scrap in, think polos are more, not much kit on the basic models either.

There, corrected it for you :D

Of the list, my vote would be for the Yaris. Suprisingly good little cars and with the recent toyota fun and games you might be able a snare a proper little bargain.
