Hi Crazy Chick. welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Whilst you were on your weekend, did you have to listen to any presentations about the place? And/ or, have you worked out how much you will have to pay over the lifetime of the membership if you signed up? It'd be helpful if you could let us know what the current costs of these places work out? I've posted the same on your reply in the other forum. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=227618&page=3
From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!
  • thanks mpython. There is a welcome meeting that you are invited to, to tell you how it all works. We decided not to go as we thought they would try to tell us something but not wish we had as we are a bit confused about next year. we will be going to it when we go to scotland. A man did come round to 'pick us up' but we said we didn't want to go and he said it didn't matter. At the moment all i know is that next year we can pay £334 to go for a week to a place in the uk or abroad (doesn't include flights) and if you want to go more you pay extra. I don't know how much but the man said it will be explained in the meeting so i'll post it when i've been to scotland. I do advise people to go on this as you can only do it for the first year if you want to and £167 isn't much for two holidays in very nice accomadition

Hi, I received this letter also on friday, I was a bit dubious so got straight on MSE and found out all sorts! I binned it. I am sure they are a legit company but feel that I dont want to pay admin and maintenance costs for a holiday that I dont really want to go on and would not choose to go on!!

my Hubby got the same letter yesterday (amazingly, since Im the only one who enters competitions) , I phoned about it tonight and its membership of a holiday club. It does sound quite good to be honest but as we already own a timeshare in Portugal (and very happy with it we are) it doesn't seem worth it as an extra.

    Hi All

I too received a letter saying I had won a prize to the value of £3750 and had to claim it within 7 days. As I was going on holiday over the easter I left a message on their ansaphone asking them to contact my mobile. I did receive a call but as i could not tell them my prize number which was on the original letter they could not tell me what prize I had won. I did ask the operator if I had actually won a prize or was this some sort of gimmick but she could not answer as I did not have my prize number but said that Clubseasons do give out prizes. I telephoned them again (out of curiousity) with my prize draw number but again was only able to leave a message. That was 3 days ago. I am interested to see what they have to say and see what prize I have won (if any) but I will not be parting with any money.

I got a letter - sent registered post - from a Clare Booth this morning, asking that I call Carol on an 0800 number...

Reading this, I might bother to call, but that's probably where it'll stop.

altyfc - let me know if you spoke to Carol and if you had actually won a prize. I am still waiting for them to return my call.

I don't think I'm going to bother calling. I've heard that there are tricks with 0800 numbers nowadays where they can be redirected to overseas numbers and the original caller charged. I have no idea whether there's any truth to it... anyone know about this?
