Really really nasty to sneer at a father mourning the loss of a child. I only hope you never experience the pain of that loss (as I have).

Irrespective of your politicial views - this sort of remark is thoroughly reprehensible.

    Shame on you

Sorry, but I havent. I excluded Gordon. Alistair Campbell was tearful whilst defending Blair. Anyone who thinks I'm sneering at others misfortune is wrong - I would never do this (I have children!), but I find it deeply offensive for politicians to mix interviews about their public service life and their very private life so that the person watching gets inappropriate messages from them (it's debatable if this is on purpose or not).

They should take note of how Cameron dealt with his grief privately and refused to discuss his loss in political interviews and so be open to the accusation of making political gain out of it. He came out with more dignity as a result.

ps: I have no political leanings!

the sooner people understand that labour are clueless and have destroyed the country in so many socio-economic ways, the better off we will all be.

I mean, imagine the morning after the election (if the coward ever calls one) and they have got in for another 5 years. imagine the sould destroying horror as you contemplate the disaster ahead.

It really does send a shiver down my spine.

Absolutely well said and completely on the money. Another term in Office would be an absolute disaster for this country and I shudder at the thought of Gordon Brown having a further five years.

If they get back in, will the last 'hard working family' to leave the Country please switch off the lights.....

In fact I know absolutely nothing about politics, even less about the economy

Ever thought about becoming an MP? :)

Look at Labour's presentation of Cameron as an out-of-touch toff, which has been astonishingly effective, given that Tony Blair has a virtually identical social background - upper middle class upbringing - major public school (Blair's school is the Scottish equivalent of Eton) - Oxford.

It has been quite effective, although Cameron seems to have failed to connect with people in the way Blair did. I am not really sure why, and it goes beyond an impression given by Labour.

The truth is personality does matter in politics. After all manifestos are only really wishlists, events occur and personality gives an indication how leaders react. Taking the USA as an example you can think of George Bush as the beer swilling, quietly religious bloke next door, who believes in the US military might and has a firm idea of what is right and wrong. You can contrast that with a more internalist, diplomatic, more complex Obama. Probably we can invisage how they would handle the different situations they might face without having them outlined to them.

    >I think Gordon & Alistair (and anyone else) would do very well to continue down this emotional path<

Clown saw the political benefit for Blair on exploiting the 'people's princess'. He's playing to the same gallery. It's 100% crocodile tears; this is the same man who was happy to send troops to futile deaths as a distraction to see him through a weekend of tricky headlines in the papers

Do you present yourself in the obnoxious manner deliberately?

It seems so unnecessary. Presumably there is plenty of material with which you can vent your hatred without getting quite so personal.
