No, it doesn't. I set up a VBV but later forgot what I used as a password, so just clicked past it and was still able to make my purchase.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -

I have a feeling that VBV is driven by the retailer. So if the retailer is not signed up to VBV, then it doesn't kick in and the buyer doesn't get asked for the password.
Separate point, but related ..... do make sure you have a very strong VBV password (indeed, all passwords). Mixture of lower case, upper case and numbers (other characters such as ! if allowable).Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Agreed. I'm not absolutely sure why it is even there. I assume some kind of extra protection??? I have since reset it and use it now, but I'm still not certain as to why.
Either way, I try to avoid paying by card online when possible. If a company offers Google Checkout for example I would much rather use that than enter my card details again.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -

What's your existing anti-virus, anti-malware setup like? Take a look at this thread also for possible suggestions.0 -

If that is the case then I would think its your computer that is the problem, presume that you have used the 2nd card online as well?
If so which computer or have you used the 2nd card on both (work & home)0 -
You don't happen to use shopto.net do you? Dodgy as !!!! that site.0

A good tip for setting up tough passwords that you can remember is to take the first line of a favourite song, take the first letter of each word and then replace one or two with a symbol.
So (and this is not my real password before anyone tries!), "I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees" becomes Iwd2tXRfdomk
Might be useful for someone who can't remember a PIN0 -
The only PC that both cards have been used on is my O/H's. Just setting up some scans on it now.
My home PC is on the same network so I'm not ruling it out - but primary target is his.
We also need to make a decision as to whether to get our joint bank account VISA card frozen, as that could be hit if his PC is infected. I guess it's better that we do that than we both get locked out of our primary account.
Log files shortly on a new thread!
