Do either of you have a Barclaycard? Call and ask if you do.

MBNA & Capital One refused to re-open accounts after I'd closed them but Barclaycard didn't (first time I had one). Same goes this time.

Most don't, Auqa won't re-open my account, Barclaycard seem to be the exception to the rule.

Possibly Barclaycard are more amenable as a) there's an outstanding balance and b) I only requested they close it about 10 days ago.

Either way, I don't appreciate being accused of lying for no apparent reason.

EDIT: Whilst I'm at it, this is for those that don't believe I got the APR reduced from 27.9% to 24.9%:

Anything else I need to prove whilst I'm at it?

    izools,

Did you have your application approved online or did they say the needed more info and then sent the card.

I applied in August and was declined, even after an appeal. Yesterday I applied again (they said 80% to 90% chance of approval) but they said they need more info. I have my fingers crossed...

I have had now Aqua for four months. Hope this helps them decide.

All you've done is prove you have an account! NOT proved you closed it, that's all we're saying! You said you closed it then reopened it and there is no record of 'Account Closure' on what you posted - so to me, that leaves me thinking you never actually closed it.

By the way wife has BC and she spoke to them earlier over something and I asked her to close it - she refused but the advisor did say if she did she'd have to wait 6 months before reapplying to barclay Card. :D

Whatever. I know what happened, if you want to choose not to believe me that doesn't negate the truth.

Does she have a balance on her card? Did she ask if she can re-open it? (NOT re-apply!!)? Two different things niddy.

Anyway this wouldn't be the first, second, or even third time you accused me of lying and turned out to be wrong... I don't understand why you do it I really don't.

What do I have to gain from coming on here and lying?

I still say don't get a Barclays account LOL.

Everything was going peachy with them until I tried replacing my Cash accounts with Current accounts. It just opened up a whole world of pain... Anyway I'm not going to re-visit that or I'll end up wanting to close my Barclaycard account again.

I think they are the only credit card company that allow you to re-open a closed account; good for me and my over-reaction indecisiveness...

And yeah, I'm easy to wind up when I get accused of lying. I've spent the last four years of my live with a god damn liar and just given them the two finger salute... being accused of doing the same thing myself is probably going to be a sore spot for a while yet ;)
