Barclaycard Initial to Barclaycard Breathe

Hey all!
Has anyone who holds a Barclaycard Initial account applied for a Barclaycard Breathe??
I have an Initial card with a £1,150 limit and £700 balance, opened at the beginning of November. Is it worth applying for the Breathe later in the year? Anyone else done the same thing? How long do you reckon I should wait? Worth doing exactly six months from the date the Initial was opened or leave it a bit longer?
Thanks all

I would wait until the day after they issue the 7th statement, then give them a call. I know a few people who have had their cards changed from inital, to classic this way. Not sure how quickly they will move you up their chain, i.e. inital, classic, gold, platinum.
One other thing to remember is after a certain amount of time they are sometimes willing to grant two cards so you could hold an inital and breathe. I know breathe is one and I think simplicity is the other were you can hold it in addition to your original card.0 -
Yes indeed that was my intention - to open the Breathe as a second account.
I shall wait until the seventh statement has been created and apply through the Existing Customer Offer links on their website. Thanks for the tip.
I'll also see if I can get the APR reduced on my Initial card, too. They've already dropped it once from 27.9% to 24.9% so seem to be getting off to a start in the right direction!Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hi did you get an increase on your credit limit? If so at what point and did you ask for a reduction in % or was it just given?0
-
Nah only a reduction in APR. Might get an increased limit once the account has been open six months, only had it since beginning of novemberCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

not had a reduction in apr, i opened mine mid september not had increase or apr reduction, shall i ask for one?0
-
Yeah threaten to close the account, they might reduce it.
What card did you get? I got the Initial so the APR was high to start with. Even with the reduction to 24.9% APR is still hardly a competitive rate, but given my credit history it's excellent
Let us know how you get on! Worst case you'll need to wait until your 7th statement date and they should be more happy to offer thingsCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I thought you closed this account when you fell out with Barclays:eek:Mate it aint worth the hasstle.
Look at what they've done to me, I've closed my credit card and am happy to hand over an easycash electron over a VISA debit because atleast I know it won't randomly be rescinded because they "all of a sudden" don't have ID.
Tosswanks.
(Yes, I had a drink or three to alleviate the frustration)0 -

Yes. I did.
I've had a week or so to calm down, get over myself, and realise that it would be biting off my note to spite my face to fall out with Barclaycard over a Barclays Bank issue, given it's the best card I've got and am likely to get for a while...
Called them just yesterday to re-open the account. Talk about indecisive...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
