If you have a shop that sells sweets from plastic jars......... ask them to save them for you (when empty) they are great for using when you buy large bags of stuff eg Rice, pasta basically dried goods. They keep them all nice and tidy in your cupboards and see through too.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
  • Hello lovelies.

Weezl has asked me to let you know that she has had to toddle off to hospital for some tests as she might possibly have a DVT .

Hopefully all will be well and she will be home this afternoon, but I am sure she would be delighted if the recipe testing, tweaking and musing continues in her abscence.

sorry this is utterly off topic, but I had to share:

DH and I talking about valentine's day tomorrow:

DH: 'I have to confess I haven't got anything. I wanted to get you flowers but I didn't know if you'd think it was a waste of money. (he pauses...) I knew it had gotten bad when I considered walking home via the graveyard and inspecting the roses there....'

:rotfl: Must point out that DH would never steal fresh flowers off a grave.

:rotfl::rotfl: - but then he could do a bit of lateral thinking and buy you some sorta nice attractive fruit-producing bush or tree for the garden - so you get the flowers = nice apple blossom or cherry blossom or summat each year for a while and then you subsequently get some food too....yay! Result!;):) Dual-purpose:)

Throw all the veg in a pan and boil in salted water until soft, then throw in the corned beef chopped up into chunks. Stir well and then add some gravy granules etc, salt and pepper and a squirt of brown sauce.

    Voila!

I serve with steamed cabbage, beetroot (shrink wrapped type) and crusty bread. Home made preferably.

Should serve at least four with healthy appetites."

I am cooking this recipe of yours at the moment. I think the 5lb potatoes is going to leave loads of leftovers from our family of me and four men. I will most probably make a corned beef hash ie with the leftovers for one of my meals during the week. I am serving it with brocolli and a spoon of chutney.

I hope everyone is okay in the Weezl household. I had that scare a few years back and it turned out to be nothing ;) I hope it does for you too.
