Bob, I'm glad there's another northerner on the thread (although I did live in Wales for four years).
Potty, thank you for the surveys, I have completed both pasta ones.
DS is cooking tonight so we are off plan. He tried the oaty bread when he got home from work and likes it. Like me he thinks it tastes a lot better than it looks (I think the problem might be my oven) and has good texture. He mentioned it to one of his staff at work and they want to give it a go too.Sealed pot member 735

whoda thunked...living in Wales is cool (at last!). Now thats an achievement weezl!
Re Amish bread...I had a wee phase of this last year and concluded (after much faffing, calender using, trying to remember what day it was and running out of people to give it to) that it was nice but not worth the faff BUT I had fun finding that out and some yummy cake along the way...love the idea of friendship cake!
Re people doing testing for month 1 have you told them they are guinea pigs or just pretending that all is normal? Just interested! Enjoy the wine and have a glass for me! I am giving up for lent! Did get a yummy rhubarb and ginger cordial today...wonder how you can make that weezl...it surely s scrummy...not as good as a bottle of merlot but I'm trying to take care of my liver (and not accidentally knocking myself off by mixing a lethal cocktail heheh!!)Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! I have my order arriving Saturday afternoon and will be ready to batch cook on Monday. The order comes to about £75 but I have added some 'treats' for Sunday dinner e.g. cabbage, broccoli.
We won't be buying eggs as we have three hens and our milk is still going to be from the PO. Their price is about the same as Asda.
As the chickens are on offer I ordered two:)business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thats good to know ISOM
I also think it would be alot of faff, that I could do without....
But some might like it
I would be more inclined to try the sourdough bread, just because it suits my taste better... .. but again, it is a faff
I look forward to hear others responses and thoughts on it.0 -
ISOM, most cordials are just sugar syrup with added fruit juice or the fruit cooked off in the syrup then strained. I did some quite successful blackberry cordial last yr. My guess is that rhubarb and ginger would be fairly simples. There's a family near here who sell rhubarb in late spring and then go south in their RV for the winter, so, when theirs is ready, I will pop over and purchase some and experiment on our behalf:D. I like the idea of sponsoring their getaway in some small way and the cordial sounds like it might be yummy on a cold evening, even with a jolt of something in if it's not lent
.
No pot, thanks for posting that interesting stuff, I love the idea of Amish friendship bread, we have a new neighbour so I might try it and take her some. We dont have Amish round here, mostly Mennonites, so no lovely buggies going by, but plenty of bake sales with perogies and cabbage rolls!
( I think it was folllowing a link from an MSE person's blog that took me to the mennonite girls can cook blog, which is FAB. Later found that some of the contributors are fairly local. Ta muchly to whoever the MSE person was)
Oh, and while I am on, I definitely do not live in Wales!! Though I used to live about 20 mins from the North border.
Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0 -
Potty Scotland is a much bigger place than the people south of the border realise:rotfl:Where abouts are you I am in Aberdeen0
