*Weezl adopts slightly pathetic pleading tone*
Lesley what do I need to do next?
*hopes Lesley will crack the whip and help get this show on the road*
ps hunky fireman? Are you living in a diet coke advert ISOM?
if you have the definitive breakfast menu now, you need to tackle the lunches next - which dishes are for lunch and how many times served, to add up to 31
remove the extra meals from the evening meals, whichever ones you decide not to use, so that you have 31
when that is done, you can see where the stock checker is, increase/decrease any ingredients that need it.
then you can check the total price and see where we are with the calories etc
off to do Spanish Omlette now, back in a while0 -

Thanks so much Sandra:A
thanks too for the calcium in dried herbs info, that's great, did you happen to know what weight of those herbs the 2 tspns mentioned works out as, my spreadsheet is asking for grams, he no likey teaspoons!
I HAVE SOME MIXED HERBS, SO WILL WEIGH 2 TSPS AND LET YOU KNOW.
Great stuff! My dad and DH love them too. When I told them just 4 of those provides the total calcium required daily for a vegan who may be finding it hard to find cheap sources of dietary calcium, they were impressedand that would only cost 7p :money:
WOW TOTAL DAILY CALCIUM AND 7P!
however I shall reduce the amount of liquid if you think that's best. Do you think our ovens are behaving very differently again.... I sense mine takes longer than yours, and you usually have to reduce my cooking times.
MINE TOOK 20 MINS PLUS 10 MINS LEFT IN OVEN, YOUR RECIPE SAID 10 MINS APPROX. SO YOURS MUST BE FASTER THAN MINE! MINE IS A FAN OVEN TOO! I THINK A LOT OF IT WAS TO DO WITH ME NOT SQUISHING THEM DOWN. I WILL USE TWO TRAYS NEXT TIME. LET SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR OTHERS, IF THEY USE TWO TRAYS AND FLATTEN THEM.
Love weezl x
BACK LATER WHEN I'VE WEIGHED THE HERBS!

2 tsp of herbs was too little to register on my digital scales. I have a refill pack which i will open tomorrow and weigh more to work it out. I have to sign off now. Until tomorrow.

A general thought about aquiring food cheaply that might be worth a bit of consideration.
I'm currently doing a bit of temp work at a food wholesalers. Although the initial outlay is more if you could find a local food wholesaler you might be able to get some things like large quantities of flour at a really low price. Also, you might be able to pick up "short dated" food at a low price- as the alternative is for them to throw it out they will sometimes sell it for less than cost.
I've got tomorrow off, so might attempt cooking something off the list for dinner- I have no idea what's in the house as I'm back at my parents currently but if I can make anything then I will have a go and give my feedback. In the mean time I'm going to try and read 100 or so pages of this thread!
Have you considered atmepting something like this for a single person with limited space in the future? (Distant future)0 -
Today must have been a nappers day... I have done nothing but fall asleep
I expect I wont be able to sleep tonight now
Hi Potty,
I'm glad you are going to prioritise the planner 1 surveys.
I'm sorry I didn't make it clear that the other survey I mentioned would be a while down the line. I feel we need to tackle the meal planners in the order we intend to offer then to all of our Bob and shirleys.
We will complete planner 1 in time for Frankie et al to run with it.
We will then look for the best way to get that out there.
And then we will look at planner 2 because not wanting to eat battery farmed eggs was the next non-negotiable we decided to tackle.
And then number 3 to allow everyone a piece of fresh fruit daily.
And then we'll review and see what's next. So potty, there is ABSOLUTELY NO URGENCY on that there hefty survey:). And even then, please feel under no pressure to be the one who would look at it. You are contributing so much to the life of this team, and I'm very, very grateful to you. And how you manage it when you have to get up at stupid o'clock and go to work, well that's just amazing :A
Smashingpotty, if you can particularly prioritise any survey, could it be the baked bean curry one, so I can check which is most popular out of it and the fritters before deciding which to lose?
I've been thinking today as I was out and about re the surveys, that I wonder if you might like to have a deputy? Is there one of us you could train up to do any of the survey work?
I'm conscious of your time
No problem...
I am off to crack a few surveys together now, so will do the baked bean one first
Regarding someone to assist...
That would be smashing
But I think a volunteer would be the way ahead
Ten pressed men and all that...... but if no one volunteers, thats fine too
The surveys are quite easy to set up....
I think a basic knowledge of googledocs, and their forms helps....
If you have a basic knowledge of most of MS office - and can work things out with different applications, then it can be quite easy
Ok... off to googledocs..... will be back soon0 -
weezl and Lesley This question is in no way meant to add pressure to you..but I was wondering whether we are looking at Plan 1 being ready for 1st April?0

PoohBear, what are your thoughts on a cabbageless bubble and squeak? To work with the existing list it would be a mashed spud base with any of the following: carrot, peas, onion, bramley apple (not for shanks) mustard, garlic...marrowfats...
served with a quarter chicken (wow! you really know how to stretch a chicken, hats off to you!) roast onions, gravy, the stuffing.
How would that work, I think it's what you guys had but the BandS is a bit different?
so priority testing now is bean curry and giving feedback (it's like the balloon game now, we have to justify which out of fritters and bean curry gets to stay in the hot air balloon, whilst we chuck the other one overboard!)
I have checked with DH ans DSs and DH would like a bubble and squeak with mashed carrot not diced or chopped and DSs say they would prefer it with onion then carrot second choice. I quite fancy fried onion and mshed carrot.
One of the few recipes I haven't trid is the fritters as no one here fancied them at all. We eat bean curry in some form every week.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
