weezl if its bob, shirl and kids I recon a wind turbine would be utilised to generate much needed electricity and reduce their bills?!!
Re the debt issue this had changed over time for me...I used to think it wasnt a problem as could pay but now know that I am effectively giving banks loads of money in interest and would much rather have it for me! Occasionally forget this hen shopping though when blinded by the sheer beauty of x,y or z....crossed posts...huggles for the AM!

weezl you haven't misquoted me in regards to the stuffing. :) Hugs to your DH.
I broached the subject of doing the Monthly Frugal Meal Planner with DH. I figured as he's working away most of the week, it will only effect him on the weekends...though he's concerned that after working under stress all week he'll be coming home to rations :) I explained we do need to do it properly to be able to feedback properly. I think he can be persuaded ;)
Ok silly question... Do you use ordinary dried mung beans to sprout or do you need special beans? :o
Hiah,

Not a silly question. Yes ordinary dried mung beans. They have to be whole, so will be green. Its a bit like the lentils being green when whole and orange when split.
I sprout
green mung beans
chick peas
alfalfa
brown and green lentils
aduki beans
they are all easy to do apart from aduki beans, most of these don't sprout in my case, so I think I am going to cook the rest and give up with those. This is the second packet i've tried. Been doing the others for years. After soaking time, take 2-3 days depending on time of year apart form alfalfa which take about a week.
Hope this helps

Debt is always an interesting subject to bring up. We have a mortgage and as I've gone back to full time study, I've applied for student loans. We also have a credit card and a loan. Would I like to get it all paid off? Yes, I think having it does narrow our options.
I would also suggest that debt, generally is caused by not living within our means. If I had saved more I wouldn't have needed the student loans for example, but such is life and we work towards paying it off by spending less and being more content with what we have :)

oh that's so kind lesley! I've tried out yet another version of the rissoles today (causing the lovely ISOM to question whether our guts are affected by onions:rotfl:she sampled them for lunch) because I wanted to try the ready brek as a thickening and binding agent for them, but I've entered that now... I would appreciate fresh eyes on where I've got to if you'd like to take any other recipes forward?

ISOM, re the farting, I'm thinking we just hook bob up to a methane generator of an evening and let him fart them all their central heating for the night?

I think it's a goer? Non?

ha HAR, what a picture. I think we should put him on a stationary bike too to burn off some excess energy, the bike being linked to the house generator - always wanted one of those.

Always wanted one of those super insulated houses too like in Centre of Alternative Technology, where if you have visitors, you have to open the windows to let out the extra heat. Maybe if I wrapped the house in 12 inches of straw bales, then put cladding on top of that it would have the same effect?

was going to suggest that I do the updated recipes for pasta alfredo, sweetcorn fritters, risi i bisi and spanish omelette.

the fritters do now have milk in, which I thought had gone, but back in for calcium mayhap, and the oil is still 125-150 to fry in, where I thought we were using about 50ml

will put in whatever is the right recipe, and they are the last ones to be posted. Will be lots of fiddly detail type questions now - sorry!

If you have gone to hang out with AM, don't worry, I'll do it whenever you can confirm

Do you want the spicy vegan rissoles put in as the veggie burgers?

Oh yes, and BTW, when I did one white loaf using your recipe, I did use my Kenwood to give it a damn good beating for 4 mins as recommended by Paul Merret in his recipe.

The texture and taste is lovely, so will continue. Am now hopeful I can sort out this flippin' loaf thing
