Not yet
But I am off to do a few now, so keep an eye on post 4 for the update

It really does help me, for the surveys
Thanks.
I will be back later, with some surveys

Is there a link to current meal plan anywhere ?
Just so I know where to check what meals are included and need surveys

I was looking for the google docs spreadsheet one...
But this helps me with the evening meals, Thanks
On the subject of google docs... I didn't realise that they did forms, so I think I will be having a wee look at doing surveys in there, as all can see them then, IF it works :A
Just having a play about with it at the moment, will let you know how I get on

Just popped on to catch up with thread and wanted to say WOW to Arty and Lesley i am so impressed and jealous that you are able to do these thing with apparent ease. It would take me a lifetime to do it and prob wouldnt look 1/8th as good. I vote never to volunteer to do anything computer or spreadsheet based here ever and if i do you have my permission to shoot me.
Things are progressing so quickly here its hard to believe we have only been going a month and we have achieved sooo much.
Good luck to the clever ones you look like you have your work cut out for you just now. At this point in the proceedings with my computer shortcomings i can only stand on the sidelines and cheer but i look forward to being able to contribute again soon.0 -
Ok...
I have had a bit of a play around with google docs, and their versions of surveys ...
I think that is the way I am going to go with this now, as it means all can see the results, and it may help somewhat.
Unfortunatley, I need to transpose all of the data from the already done surveys, to new google doc ones.
So for now, I wont be doing any new surveys, just sorting out the data from those already done.
I will close all the collectors for current surveys, so no more data can be gathered whilst I work on this...
I do hope it wont cause to many issues.
But hopefully, within the next week, I will have all the google doc surveys in place
- sorry that it may take this long, but I have 3 long shifts starting tomorrow, so nothing will be done for the next few days
Weezl, it might be an idea to delete the links on post 4 for now ?
And as soon as I have replaced them, I will post the links ...
I do hope this is ok... it just means that in the long run, it is less work, and data is instantly there for all to see

Just wanted to say a quick Good Morning and Thanks to those of you that have been working so hard behind the scenes. It's really appreciated. I, too, am not skilled in any of those 'technical' areas!
I'm going to try out Spicy Bean Cutlets this evening, as a possible alternative to the veggie burgers.
weezl What stocks can I use or, alternatively, what sort of price per head should I be aiming for?
I was thinking, ingredient wise: 2 tins of kidney beans, an onion, a bit of sweetcorn, chilli powder, perhaps garram massala? How does that sound or am I going to cause you problems?0 -

the bean cutlets sound good Frankie. ingredients wise I think that's great too, we lose 1 fruit and veg portion for every can of baked beans that gets replaced with a can of kidney beans though... How would a half and half work to maybe compensate in part for that?
Have you got any cornmeal? If so you could be the first ever tester for a recipe exclusively designed for the vegan planner

potty thanks so much for all you've done! Of course we all understand that these technical things take a while to sort and you are a very busy working person. Please feel under no pressure to rush, and we will all be so thrilled to look at what you've got for us whenever it's ready

And a note for all the lovely volunteers:
A plea from weezl:
As this is an internet based team, it's very hard to tell from people's posts whether folk are popping in briefly enjoying bits of our quest and then clicking away to other sites pages and interests.
Some however are sticking around and have really bought into this project.
My fear is that I will delegate a task, and someone lovely will quietly go off and begin to research it, but I won't know and then may accidentally offer the job out again.
So please please if you do intend to do stuff, please post that you are doing it, I will acknowledge using the thanks button, and hopefully there won't be any probs
OK a few thoughts questions and tasks for today
vegetarian/vegan readers: How are you currently accomodating enough omega 3 in your diets without using fish?
vegan readers: what is your current chief source of dietary calcium?
meat eaters: do you have 1-2 portions of oily fish weekly, or do you get omega 3 from another source and if so what is it?
I'll be very interested in those answers!
Some of our research has been quite easy light-hearted and google has given us plenty of what we need to know. Average daily calorie requirements, freely available and quite reputable.
There are 2 key outstanding researchy areas which I feel require more delving.
If anyone is willing to have a look at any part of these, I'd love it if you could step forward
There is a range of fortification levels with calcium that all white flour in the uk must have, and this is not listed.
I have contacted asda customer services twice with the same query requesting to know where in this range the calcium value of their white flour and white bread flour falls.
The first time they took 5 days and told me what I'd already told them, ie that their flour had to contain it, but not how much, which was my actual question!
The second time they have not yet replied. It's a bit frustrating since there's meant to be a 48hr turnaround time for queries!
I've also tried just saying, well can you just give me your supplier's name, but no luck!

Good morning everybody. I've got the house to myself today as the OH has to go to Cardiff to finish signing the paperwork for the agency he's working with.
Hopefully I intend to make the "Delia" pie for tonight (with wedges was it?) and another batch of HM pizza for if the OH doesn't approve after his grand trek - he liked them 'calsone' style last time and I assume this is an option for S as it makes it harder for OH to judge the amount of filling but means it uses a little more dough for size of pizza.
I want to make the stuffing (I've got dried cranberries rather than lemon that I want to use but other than that, if you've got a working recipe) and maybe the cauli-cheese on sunday, and I've been wanting to make the cereal bars for a while but don't have a blender so I'm not sure how to approach the apples? Also, I have sultanas in, not raisins and I'm not sure if it makes a difference.
What of the rest of the stuff can freeze? I'd be up for making more today when I've got a while before he gets back than most days when I need to do the laundry and tidy it all before he gets back at 2 (he starts at 6 and I get up at 8 - lazy I know) cause it's almost impossible to get anything done once he's back and on the sofa.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
