Weezl- is there anything on the list that really needs trying ?
I am happy to help, but as I have still not read ALL the pages I fear I may have missed something important!
Happy belated birthday Fergie, not long until the next one comes along!

    Morning everyone,
I've got my chicken out for tomorrow and I'm going to make the stuffing today so it's one less thing I have to do.
Is there a recipe somewhere for the pie, I'm going to do that on Monday and also I was thinking of doing a chicken and sweetcorn soup with the stock, once I put it in the slow cooker. Is that something that would/could be added to the menu planner?

    thank you orkney star:A

And I don't think I've said a proper hello and welcome, so let me do that now!

I know you are a bit limited for some available goods, so I was just wondering what I could ask you to try...

Do you have access to some dried peas?
Avocet posted a recipe for a kind of pea puree, which would be a hearty side dish for with one of our pies :)

I also thought (being in Scotland!) that getting hold of oats would not be too tricky, so I wondered about seeing if there veggie burgers that both frankie and I have tried in different ways, might benefit from losing some potato and gaining some oats?

If you are a rubber chicken fan, then a roast followed by a chicken and sweetcorn pie would be fab, Frankie is doing this this weekend but another tester there would be fab :)

Howlin's pasta alfredo and Allegra's risi e bisi also great.

When you've had a think what suits your storecupboard and takes your fancy, let me know and I'll make sure I've linked you to the most recent version :)

yes please a soup would be fab :)

you're doing yours for 6 right?

Would you be prepared to try the chicken and sweetcorn pie as a steamed puddin, suet crust stylee? I'm guessing for 6 of you it would probably need to be an 8 inch one?

Oh that reminds me I must let you know quantities for the jam sponge! D'oh!

(you know how lots of preggie ladies want their figure back after a baby? Am I the only one who thinks: sod the flat tummy, I just want my brain back :rotfl:)

Not a fan of rubber chicken (sorry) but could try the burgers if you like.....as written but with more oats ? (we have plenty of oats- just making porridge!)

lol weezl I don't have a pudding basin. Can I use something else? Also I've never made a pudding so I could do with a recipe...
I am doing it for 6. I'll do the soup then.
What ingredients are going spare that I can use for the soup and the pie/pudding?

great! As written but maybe substitute oats for approx 150gs of the spuds?

Frankie how does that sound, might it help a bit with the wetness and spuddiness of the burgers?

    xxx

In regards to the veggie burgers...I was looking online for a kind of spicey bean burger recipe and while most of the recipes use kidney beans, I'm guessing you could use drained baked beans, maybe also some chick peas if there are some going spare? Then the onion and some chilli powder...how would that sound?
