Weezl, congratulations on the go ahead for your home birth. That must be a weight off your mind.

Homemade pasta would be a no go for me, despite wanting to give it a go. I do cook mostly from scratch and am loving this thread. I would love to reduce my food bil more and have been interested in the nutritional info. As others have mentioned, I thought we had a reasonably healthy diet but now realize some areas are lacking.

Not sure if this fits in with your frugal/nutritional guidelines but made this with the intention of getting more oily fish into the kids:

Tin of sardines in tomato sauce
Tin of value tuna -just to bulk it up
Couple of tablespoons mayonnaise - not sure if your homemade version is still part of the planner
    Sweetcorn
    Value pasta shapes

Mixed sardines, tuna, mayonnaise and stir through cooked pasta and sweetcorn.
    Me, DH, DS10 and DS6

No problem weezl Is there a list and recipes for the ones you want tested specifically somewhere? I had a little look but couldn't really see anything.
Also if I send you my email address via pm, do you want to send me yours so I can send you a pic of the chilli mince?

    Hello Everybody:wave::)

Yay for being able to have a home birth Weezl

Hope everyone has had a nice sunny day-it has been lovely here!

I am finally getting round to making pizza tomorrow-I know they have been tested already but they look yummy. I promise I will test something unique next time.

Quick Question-If I make the bases in the afternoon then cook them in the evening would that be ok? It is because I have a research seminar 5-7:eek: (most annoying time ever) and am always really hungry when I get home so would like them to be nearly ready.

    Evening everyone
Back to the bones for stock, if you buy alittle something at your local butcher and ask for any bones for the 2 dogs you have (hee hee) I have always been given plenty for free, they are only too glad to given them away. Plenty of yummy stock for soups and don't forget the chicken carcase too, after your made the chicken and sweetcorn pie with it.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

The dough may continue to grow during the 5-7 slot! Maybe you could get as far as having slightly part baked the bases (couple of mins should do it) and spread the sauce and grate the cheese on, and then all you'd have to do once you get in is just give it roundabout 8 mins to get all warm with nice melty cheese? xxx
