another quick question re the vegetarian planner,

home made lasagne pasta sheets? Too much of a faff for shirley? Or OK?

I'd say 'probably'. I'm pretty much keen on doing it all from scratch and keeping costs to my planned budget, but even as a keen cook who doesn't work 40 hours per week out of the home, I'm not prepared to do this!

:rotfl: I've figured out the cholestoral mystery! when I searched for "pumpkin seeds", for some reason a type of fish came up as the only option. Didn't even give it a 2nd look, so that's how it end up in our "recipe". Will fix now....:o

Anyway - wholewheat pasta sheets - I have never tried, and a quick google on .hr does not give me any help - so if you feel brave enough, please have a go, although I do worry that the rougher texture of the coarser flour (remember that the plain flour itself is already coarser than the flour Italians would use) might make for unmanageable dough. If you find yourself with a gloopy mess that will not stretch thinly no matter how hard you try, remember that not all is lost - just roll it all up again into a a ball, bring a big pot water on the boil, then tear off small dumplings of dough and drop them in until they rise to the top - then give them another couple of minutes or so (if they start disintegrating, just pull the pot off the heat and drain quickly). And hey presto, you have your very own pot of potato-free wholewheat gnocchi :T Serve with pesto, simple tomato sauce, or povero brodetto.

Thanks for that - and for the lasagne recipe earlier on (sounds like an idea for a weekend project for me:D).

    Errr.....what is povero brodetto please?

hello all, sorry Frankie I'm probably too late to post anything for dinner now :rotfl:

Been to see the obstetrician and he's happy with a home birth :):):):):):):):):):)

I'm afraid I won't be able to link to my blog in my sig, or refer to it.

This is a new measure to prevent spammers.

I lost a whole thread on old-style because I hadn't kept up to date with the rules :o

and I'd hate that to happen here.

But I will continue to place my photography and recipes in the place which will remain nameless ;)

Murrell and Mary :D welcome and thanks, it will be lovely to have as much of your input as your time allows :)

aless  gosh it's high calorie that seed spread isn't it? Shirley'd better watch out! :D

Well - I think we all need to get into the habit of clicking on the posters' icon to see if there is a "homepage" underneath it in the list.

...goes off hoping the-powers-that-be dont decide to ban homepages...

This yur rule is confusing me as well Weezl - I thought it was just there if one has adverts on a blog you've done? - and thought "Oh well...no problem there....I long ago made a policy decision never to take adverts and make sure I do a bit of "springcleaning" promptly if a spammer puts a fake "comment" on any post I've made in one of them.

    Surely thats okay with MSE?

(but just in case - maybe those of us with blogs need to make sure the blog heading contains our MSE name and then anyone should be able to "find us" by putting in:

    "MSE name" + "blog"

    into google search engine.

(- and its not a little hobby-ette of mine devising ways to deal with frustrating rules if anyone asks )

it's newly changed because MSE can't be sure a person won't subsequently become an advertising spammer :(

But there's a thread discussing it somewhere so maybe we 'd best keep the controversy over there and have recipe and nutritional fun over here? :)

allegra may laugh, but I shall hazard a guess at paupers/thrifty fish stew :)
