no problem, weezl. I haven't got much else to do right now (stuck in a hotel room with a 2 month old baby!
). The sites really clunky to use, but I guess worth it for the breakdown. I've shared all the recipes now, but need to go back and re-do the cottage pie as I've just realised that I did the mince as cooked weight rather than raw weight...also thinking the nut butter portion is way too tiny, but I'm rubbish working in metric, so maybe someone could say roughly how many grams a serving is and I can re-adjust?

Calories
OK team this needs a bit of thinking through. The calorie needs that this family have are quite varied.
Bob and DS1 need 3000 ish
DD1 needs 2300
Shirley needs 1900
Based on average heights of UK men/women.
My current thinking is to make the breakfast, lunch and tea options add up to shirley's 1900, and then add in the snacks for the others.
But I'm not sure how practical this would be.
Is there another way of getting shirley to stop at 1900? Not that I'm saying she's greedy, just it would be hard to bake a lot of cakes and not eat any of them, maybe?
I think the 1900 for the main food sounds right. Everyone has to regulate what they eat according to appetite and current desire to lose/gain weight. If anything should go in extras, it's the cakes.
If we did that, the cakes can't contain anything that's vital for the nutrition part ie they have to be eaten to get enough calcium from the milk or Omega 3 from the raw oil drizzled over0 -
(our landlord is repairing damp in our bathroom, so since we are sans toilette for 2 days, we've had to vacate to a hotel!)
ooo, ok, I think the original calcs had a serving size of 12g. Re-do! here's edited post: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=30433863&postcount=2311
agree with Lesley on the calories. Shirley can also have less of the potatoes/rice/starchy side if she wants some cake. (for instance, standard serving of rice or pasta is 75g and we've alloted 100g - I personally find 75g more than enough)

Drat! good point about the omegas.
Ummmm right so that's a bit tricksome. Either we create nutritionally empty snacks for the men (not sure about that but could go for it)
Or we make it clear that shirl and DD need smaller portions of everything?
Or another creative way forward I haven't thought of!

Cream of tomato soup:
100g pluspints milk powder
3 cans SP tomatoes
salt pepper spices
Garlic
15p per portion, but a super source of calcium
Is this for just one lunch for the family of four? I have added some HM bread and a thin spread. It seems very generous.Maybe I am just a bit mean.:obusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Lesley, I've been pondering what you've said and i feel it sounds a bit fussy, but my preference is for recipecal (even though it is loads less user friendly) because that gives values for each of the vits and minerals rather than percentages. So when I'm checking out if one day is calcium-filled enough for DD1 it's slightly more helpful to have calcium expressed in grams or mg.
Also thanks millions for being up for spreadsheet looking:D:D:D.
I wonder when we can both be on at the same time?
Tomorrow we have an obstetrician appointment to hopefully see if we are all clear for a homebirth after the DVT scare I had, so I think I'll be a bit headfull of that until later in the afternoon....
Erm any thoughts on when you might like to get our heads together?
Weezl x
No probs about recipecal, it is def more clunky, but as more people were using that, I thought you might prefer it
I've got a full day most Weds, could be on in the eve if you were up to it, 7-9ish or Thurs eve 7-9ish or Fripm, or say what time would be good for you.
Can I have a look at them beforehand so I can get my eye in to your layout and have a think about what I could contribute?0 -

no it's me being a bit vague poohbear! I did hope that would do 2 meals for Bob and shirl, but I'd be interested if your portion control works that way for your gang of hungry outdoorsy men!

How about everyone can have everything, but if they want fewer cals they can have less of the filler starch - rice, potatoes etc and fewer cakes? Is that practicle, or too complicated? Most women have less on their plates than most men, so would be used to varying portion sizes and not eating some things the men and teens do0
