Up until now, I was just going to put our original choices down and I was starting to feel a teensy bit optimistic, but now I just don't know. My appointment with the head teacher isn't until friday, damn that I married a man with a surname beginning with a lower end of the alphabet letter! I'm also a bit concerned that the heads advice has been very much bright and breezy, is it bluster to get the pushy parents out the door or is it just I've become obsessed and possibly mad? :rotfl:Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:
Debt free date April 2016!!!!:eek:0 -
Interviews in our school are running through to the 19th. Therefore I'm not rushing into making the choices.
Go with your original choices and add a few others just in case.0 -
I found the head teacher as clueless as the rest of us!!0

I have just sent an email. I would really encourage everyone on here to do the same. Please!!0

My childs score is one point below yours and I feel that parents of the kids with the supposed 'high b2/low b1' score are really just going to have face a long, nail biting wait. What concerns me is the possibilty that we are being given false hope, something I really don't want to pass on to my daughter, we had told her that her score was great etc and when she returned to school on monday and heard others she was gutted, 'you said my score was good, IT'S NOT!' I could go on..... I can't believe AQE feel we have been given enough information, only in this country!
My son, and others who sat the test, were told to report to the Principals office to give her their score then his teacher asked them all, in front of the whole class, what their score was!0 -

our interviews started yesterday and run through to the 4th week of February.
that is awful about the kids being told to tell their scores. Our principal had arranged to get copies of the kids scores and had informed all relevant staff first thing Monday.
My interview is today.
re; percentile ranks - just got my daughter's from Victoria. She scored 117 on AQE and that is a percentile rank of 90. Victoria's Band 1 for first consideration is a percentile rank of 60 upwards in either AQE or GL asssessment.0 -
Susieus, that is a disgrace that they asked the kids in the class. I would not be amused at that.
I have now had my interview. No fantastic help or information coming through from the primary school unfortunately. I've told the Principal I will confirm our choices by next Thursday so at this stage the form remains blank. I'm doing things on our terms not the school's and there is no way I was going to just put anything down so that targets could be met on completed forms.
Any of the rest of you who are still dithering on what to do, I would encourage you to take this route too. Don't be pressured into making snap decisions.
I sent a lengthy email to AQE last night. It would be great if others would do the same.0 -
Looks exceptionally favourable for your daughter Josie. :T Is Victoria her first choice?0
