I am such an idiot...I could never figure out how to do the miles if runchum doesn't want to run as far...never thought of running first..... (numpty I am). If she is not too well I could run to hers and pick her up on the way...the run I have mapped is only 7 miles but it is the timberhonger route that I did in June...just mapped it and the elevation doesn't seem half as bad as I remembered....need to get it out of the way...

lol you nutter. When I was training for the marathon I would quite often do 3-5 miles before meeting friends for run and then another 3 after dropping them home. Really broke up the distance. Mentally 3 miles then 5 is much better than 8 :)

right 10 mins, going to pack up so I can walk out the door dead on 5
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

PAP, your brother sounds like mine. Earns double what I do, doesn't even run a car yet and has no savings and £1200 debt

I know idiots arnt they. He is in debt too, with me as well, but you can lead a horse to water and all that. He is now thinking about getting a car on finance :wall: Until I pointed out his credit rating is shot! I dont know how he will mange going back to the busses though, for one he has to open the store now at 8am and no bus will get him there at that time :o

I know I should feel really sorry for him but the fact is I told him before he moved out, then when he moved back and got the car he needs to save. He hasn't, he has blown it all (usually days after being paid) so he has to deal with the outcome... Evil sister maybe but he has to learn he is now an adult!

Wooo hoo went to Bradford and finally found running shorts that fit :) And they were in the sale for £9.99!!

Snags - you dont need to do speedwork atm - the injury risk is massive and you'll get loads of imprvoments without it to start with, only when your improvements slow down should you start to think about fartlek...

Well done on your walk/run Pap :D
  • I have an X reg 206-DH bought it for me at a car auction nearly 3 years ago for £1200-its done over 100,000 miles and still going strong (ok, the dash lights up like a christmas tree but its not failed me or the MOT yet! lol)

Sounds like how my older brother and sister viewed me when i was just 16 and in ft apprenticeship when my brother was bumming about in a pt job, sister stayed on at school so neither had much money but no debt then me, a good solid regular income but took on £4k of debt....How the tables will turn though!

Im well on my way to getting sorted, iv had such an early lesson i dont think i will ever get a car on credit, really to get a "nice" car in my eyes it can be done for just £3k or so? No need for finance and i just generally think if you can afford the finance then you can afford to save for something and have to pay it intrest free.

Cars lose enough of there value(when new or near new and you buy on finance) without the fact your tied in for 3 or 4 years of its depreciation and you are paying more than the price of it due to intrest! Stupid.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Lou...I know what you mean...I just tell other people that they are my friends and don't explain any further, but its easier for me because I don't have anyone family wise to explain myself to.....most of my friends live all over the place anyway and my OH knows and now accepts that you are not all nutters...

could you just say that Bunny is a friend of a friend who very nicely invited you to her birthday party and you have accepted the kind of invitiation or just keep it quite ambiguous....oh its an old school friend who has moved away...chance to catch up with some other school friends who are going .....kind of thing.
