Ebay- anyone else had this problem?

All of the above is one reason why I will stop selling on ebay soon, whilst the majority of buyers are honest and looking for a bargain, there are the minority who are ruining it. Maybe power sellers have a different take on things.
I sent a top to a winning bidder, unworn, still with tags and then to be told that the item I had sent was not as described because it had been worn! No amount of photo's can prove what I sent. The article sent back has definitely been worn, and not washed. For the sake of twenty quid I've put it down to experience.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

That's just what I said in my previous post, didn't I?You need proof of delivery for paypal. 99% of problems with paypal are because people are too lazy to look at the Terms and conditions and the throw their toys out of the pram when they lose money
To make it short: All items you are going to send especially those that are high-end or expensive, you should always take pictures of them and always have a proof of shipping, to protect the sellers and avoid being defrauded.Mr. Mulla0 -
If your an ebay business then using the term no returns could be a breach of trading standards due to distance selling laws.
Don't know if private sellers would be affected by this though. Anyone got any idea?0 -

It's sheer madness to assume that every buyer is out to defraud, obviously some are, but the fault lies with the seller for not choosing an appropriate postal service.
Sorry to be picky, but there is an important differance. That's just what I said in my previous post, didn't I?

A proof of shipping will only allow you to claim from royal mail, and a potentially scamming buyer will get their money back. (and it only covers up to £39 + you may not get the value you sold the item for, but the value you bought it for if lower)
A proof of delivery means that a buyer can't win a paypal claim for not recieved, and you don't have to claim off royal mail.
You're very right there, but no, private sellers have no such responsibility. If your an ebay business then using the term no returns could be a breach of trading standards due to distance selling laws.
Don't know if private sellers would be affected by this though. Anyone got any idea? This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Don't worry about it until you actually receive it back by a fully trackable method ofcourse!
I was a power seller, and to be honest there are soem buyers who will try it on, but they are the minority, but it just wasn't worth the hassle. I still sell some second hand items , but not for low value, it just isn't worth it.0 -

I totally agree with you, it's the sellers responsibility to ensure the item is delivered, and that they have proof of the delivery or are covered if it does not get delivered.
I sold on ebay for a number of years, clocking up over 20,000 sales and found most buyers just want to get the goods they ordered and are not out to scam anyone.
I only ever had three bad buyer experiences.
One cancelled a cheque, one one got a £1.99 refund from paypal by telling them someone else had used his account to pay for the item. But refused to return the item as he was using it! And one used the BIN button then immediately left me negative feedback which said "Don't send it, I don't want it now".
All the rest were good transactions, and I still remember half a dozen that were really memorable for good reasons.0 -
I just sold some used items in good condition but condition not mentioned on the listing the buyer contacted me before receiving the items saying she wanted a refund and started a dispute with e-bay. Obviously i didn't want to refund while the item was still with the courier so i gave the fully tracked number reassuring her it would be with her very soon.
At this point she had no problem other than she had not received it. 10mins after the courier states that the parcel was signed for she esculated the claim saying all the items are severely holed and stained. Which is not the case at all all items of clothing in the bundle were in a very good condition only worn once or twice, the ones that were marked in any way i binned and were not listed.
I have no choice but to offer a refund on return of items. So whats betting i get a box of previously fine shredded clothing back?Grocery challenge Jan 270.27/200:eek:

I'm sure you will get the items back exactly as the buyer says they were when they arrived. But there's nothing you can do about it.
It's your word against there's, you can't prove you are right and they can't prove they are right. Unfortunately ebay will take their side, because if they don't the chances are they will never buy from ebay again, but the chances are you will continue to sell on ebay. So they have a good chance of keeping both of you.0
