I thought Jet2 flew to Valencia but they dont now
Thompson used to fly there also but pulled out due to being charged too much
Flying to Alicante is an option ,if you hire a car its about a 2 hour drive ,motorway all the way (toll road)
But as been mentioned EMA with Ryanair might be your best optionHave a nice day

From the East Midlands Trains website..........
East Midlands Airport
Conveniently placed between Nottingham, Leicester and Derby in the heart of the UK,
Checker Cars, linking the airport to stations served by East Midlands Trains.
Conveniently located = In the middle of nowhere, highly convenient.
Checker Cars charge by the arm and the leg.
As I said before it is about 3 miles from the airport.:(0 -
Another alternative is to fly to reus which is about as far to the north as alicante is to the south. there's supposed to be a new airport opening at castellon which is about an hour from valencia but it seems this has been ongoing for ages. apparently the airport is built and ready but still no sign of when it will open. they are hoping to run it without air traffic control so good luck with that! (although I understand a number of smaller airports in the USA do this already)0

Yes, that new airport should open soon, worth keeping an eye on new routes to there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

According to local English newspapers, the airport itself is finished, just waiting for electricity, water and road connections to be completed, oh, and the safety certificate to be issued. There is also the problem of a lack of airlines agreeing to fly into and out of the airport. So far the only airlines to have signed up or shown an interest are Air Nostrum ( a Valencian airline) and Blue Air (a Romanian Airline).
We've heard so many times over the last few years that opening is iminent so don't bank on flying there in 2010!!0
