You have seen many times when you create a new account on yahoo, google or some other websites. It is really hard to read their image security code. Why do they do that and also they will add upper case and lower case.
They never thought about we would struggle to repeat the same word. If you give a simple image with few clear letters, is that not enough .

If they have a clear picture do you think spam bots will read and create new accounts automatically. As long as if it is picture that should be enough.

Spambots are incredibly sophisticated these days, they can use OCR on these security pictures (more commonly known as captchas), so they need to distort them enough to avoid them being deciphered by bots.
I think one day they will hide all pictures as well to make it more safe :cool:0 -
