UKPS - UK Protection Services - another joke of a PPC?

Gala Bingo Chorley - why have you not learned your lesson after PCN-UK?
A simple deterrent would be to buy a wheel clamp of your own and put it on a different one of your own staff cars, very visibly, every so often. That will stop car park chancers without you getting dragged down with this pond-life and losing customers.
Not only that, Gala Bingo Chorley, did you know you could be accused of breaking the Protection from Harassment Act by allowing your agents to harass people (British Gas was guilty of this last year when its agents harassed someone). And fines resulting from that sort of offence are REAL fines, unlike the threats dished out by scam private parking companies.
And, Gala Bingo Chorley, did you know your Google results could be affected by posts like this one directing people here?
UK Protection [STRIKE]Racket[/STRIKE] Services - who needs them?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was a little intrigued the other day when I first saw a link to their site, in particular the logo on front page for (removed name so as not to appear in any google search) Hospice. And I thought 'oh well they can't be all bad supporting such a worthwhile cause'. Maybe they using those ill-gotten gains to salve their conscience. Anyway being such a trusting chap I had a word with a mate of mine who is a fellow Sapper (useless bit of info!) who's niece works there. To the best of her knowledge they have never heard of them!
Bit more digging (clicked on their Twitter link) and they are doing a sponsored walk on 31 March, (with an invitation to go along and watch them). Also another link for one of their guys. Total pledged between them == £60

Anyone got a spare bit of time on the 31st? Good opportunity for photos of the herd!0 -

I think they could be reported to the Charities Commission for carrying that logo?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As I said, to the best of her knowledge, the Hospice would not confirm about contributorsCoupon-mad wrote: »I think they could be reported to the Charities Commission for carrying that logo?0 -

I bet its something like:-
As they have illegally parked we reserve the rite to charge, clamp, tow and destroy any vehicle without a permit.
The repeating of greek / latin is a web designers trick, it looks like they have just had the web published. The web designer has set up the pages how they will appear and given UKPS th logins so they can go in and put their waffle about their services.
It's not very professional to actually publish the website without over typing the greek / latin

I feel another email to the Gala Bingo CEO coming... If anyone else wants to send an email his address is neil.goulden@galacoral.com
More importantly Vincent Baron, the only Director of UK-PS does not have a clamping license with the SIA which is a legal requirement under the Private Security Act (2001).
Perhaps Gala should know that it is their legal responsibility to ensure clampers they employ on their land are licensed. Also the penalty for failing to do this is a fine of up to £5000 and/or being jailed for 6 months per offence.
Gala can check these details for themselves online.
Company director name http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk type in UK protection services in search box, click company name, then click on "Order information on this company". Then to check for the license they can go to http://sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/home/licensing/register/rolh.htm typing in the name Vincent Baron and selecting vehicle immobilisation at the bottom.
If Pcn-Uk clamped on that land, then we're looking at 2 offences. I can't imagine anyone at Gala Bingo would like to stump up £10k and spend 12 months inside (I seriously doubt it would happen but this is what the law says).0 -

I did take a photo, the way the "permit" was positioned made it difficult to really see anything useful though.
Here it is....
I'd wait to see if they put any signs up before we start complaining to Gala Bingo yet, after all it could have just been a coincidence that they were there (seems like a bit too much of a coincidence though to me). I'll check again next week to see if there's any new signs up, but I think a complaint to the SIA is definitely in order if the director hasn't got a licence.0
