    Do like I do...

I never visit my MIL, I have never ever stopped my OH taking the children there, but I make a point by not going..

They are always wecome when they come to us, (which isnt very often, usualy before OH and Childrens birthays...... NOT mine, may I add) I am in my own surroundings and dont give into bullying while they are here..

When my eldest was born, she had really bad thrush on her face and was told by my doctor and mindwife not to bath her, top and tail using clean cotton wool balls every time. I just happened to mention that I hadnt bathed her the past 2 days (she didnt ask why), next thing, she was telling everybody that I wasnt fit to be a mother because I never bath the baby!!!!! I felt like such a hopeless MOther, as my DD had got the thrush from being breast fed, then hearing people saying things like this to me while I was feeling at my lowest, I just wanted to crawl into a corner and die...

BUT, Ive become stronger, and everything she says, I just laugh it off, because theres only so much anyone can take...
I bought her a lovely hamper for her birthday last year, only to have the bottle of wine that was included in the hamper back for my birthday!!! grrrrrrrrr

Love, your not alone, its amazing how many MIL feel threatened when they see their sons living a life without them in control... not having to depend on them for everything...
I too am not welcome in their "clan"...... but hay, its their loss..
we had a party a few weeks back, everyone were offered a glass of wine, apart from me...
Stand yourself up, shake yourself down... The important thing to you now, is YOUR family, your OH and your little ones.

my advice to you is........ keep your distance.... it makes life so much easier

    good luck love xxxx
