Which is only £270 inc VAT. from ebuyer. (£262 on oyyy.co.uk)
You are buying the same thing, but swapping Dell support for Phillips support - oh and the comestic change i.e. black for silver + phillips on the front and not dell

Dell uses several people's tech ... this model specifically used phillips.
I bought the Philips 200W6CS20 from Dabs a month ago when on a special and have to say I am very pleased with it.
Makes my old Hansol TFT look very poor in comparison.
Would certainly recommend. Image quality running at the native 1680x1050 is exceptional using the supplied DVI cable.
Only criticism would be the internal speakers, which are incredibly tinny, but I bought it for the screen siize and quality, not the speakers.0 -

You will need to spend a bit of time adjusting the colour but once done you're away.
Thanks for that b1g1an. I figured the Dell monitors would be fine. Still interested by the Philips though being a tight git and all!!!

No worries.
Do bear in mind though that just because they share the same panel doesn't make them the same monitor. The electronics that are added are what make or break a monitor. The Apple 20" uses the same panel as well but is very different from the Dell in use, I prefer the Dell, others think it's rubbish in comparison. Same may be true of the Phillips, I don't know.0 -
Also note that Dell are doing the:
Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24'' widescreen LCD
for £742.72
(compared to £824.85 last time I checked - 26th June)
http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&category_id=6198&~ck=bt
(obviously nowhere near as huge a discount as the 20" model)0 -
Dell are today announcing MAJOR price cuts across the range!...:Tnewfoundglory wrote:25% off both, until 2nd August.....

Dell UltraSharp 2007FP Monitor (£351.62 down from £472.35)

Both come with a 3-year warranty!
This is the real deal people, as when i was looking a few weeks back these screens really were £437.10 and £472.35!! This is a £110 - £120 saving, and seems like a fantastic deal to me!
Recommend you choose the wide aspect one, and would be *IDEAL* for graphic designers working with the creative suite or video editing!
it's an Equation.....0 -

You can get this one from https://www.scan.co.uk @ £645 inc vat + £10 shipping. They do it regularly on their 'today only' page as a special offer (I think most weekends). I got mine 2 weeks ago, delivered the next day
And I have to say its a stunning screen, very large and very nice to use (gaming, internet, films everything). If you can afford it
As for the Dell/ Phillips discussion. I looked at alot of other monitors in comparison, with mostly the same panels. Manufacturers use different software, overdrive techniques etc, so even 2 panels wont be the same! But what clinched it for me is the warranty. Most of them might have a return to manufacturer or something. Dell has a 3 year next business day exchange warranty. From my research they'll even swap it for 1 or 2 dead pixels, just log it online or ring up and you'll get another one next day. That clinched the extra few quid for me!0 -

Cheers, new prices are now:
2007WFP £285.35
2007FP £308.26
This extra 10% off will run until 26/7/06
OP/BG - please update the first post, thanks.0 -
Anyone got the 20" and tell me if its fine for watching movies? I have been keeping my eye on the 24" for ages and just can't justify the cost. 20" may be a good compromise between my lust and wallet!

Well that just makes it an easier decision thanks. I just noticed that the 7% from quidco is exclusive of VAT so my cashback figure above is incorrect.
By my new calculation the Quidco refund should be £17 making the 2007WFP £268.35 (£225.85 after reclaiming the VAT). Now do I buy one or two?"Whatever happened to string?"0 -
Yes, I worked it out to be about £270 (ish). Still can't decide if I want one. I have to see how much I can get for my 17 incher on eBay...0
