    Not being funny, but given that you're quite happy to write "OMG" and "'nuff" despite being very much old enough to know better, it was always fairly certain which side of the "correct use of the English language" debate you'd come down on.

    That's a bit harsh! I'm a trained interpreter and translator and would use terminology such as 'OMG' in a text or on a forum, even though I would happily murder someone who used such a term in a formal context. It's a question of context, and also intelligence, knowing when it is appropriate to use which type of terminology.

    'Nuf said, innit! ;)

    Right at the top of this page, and every page I've been to. The very top left.

    :money:Martin Lewis'

    Where did the final "s" go? Please fix! :p To be clear, it should read:

    :money:Martin Lewis's

    :beer:

    (ahhhh, I feel better now)

    Lewis' is absolutely correct. Names ending in S only need an apostrophe and do not need a second S. It is the site of Martin Lewis or Martin Lewis' site.

    'Brought' is the past-participle of 'to bring'. Hence you 'brought a bottle to the party'.

    'Bought' is the past-participle of 'to buy'. Hence you 'bought a bride from the internet'.

    It is grammatically correct to drop the final s - the apostrophe impies that there is a further s but there is no need to actually include it.

    Didnt you study english grammar when you were at school?

    Apostrophe ?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Can I just make it perfectly clear that I have never ever bought (or brought) a bride from the internet! :D ...well not yet!

    Oh, just when things were going so well! If you read the previous posts Choc you'll see that Martin is only getting away with it because he's chosing it as his personal style. From a purely grammatical perspective, it's wrong, or maybe as open for discussion as the rest of the English language!

    But Martin has made his choice, and has chosen to bend the rules slightly. Which I find interesting given that his site is all about following the rules to ones best advantage :p

    Argh! I entered into an argument about grammar and made a spelling mistake. :eek:
