And legally there's a difference between unsolicited and supply errors the former being for when a company you don't have a relationship with sends you a book or CD [unsolicited] then demands you pay them or else. Like the evil book clubs of yore.
Sending 2 of something when you ordered 1 doesn't make the second one unsolicited in the legal "Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971" sense.

Basically what I received was a big Amazon box, with a big box inside it, containing the two cooker boxes. The big box inside the Amazon one was the manufacturer's. It seems to me they send them to Amazon in twos. Whoever was packing it did not notice that the big box had "2 Tower 7lt Non Stick pressure cookers" printed on it, as part of the artwork.purplemoon wrote:Dunno about mop, bucket, or iron... But I would love a pressure cooker! Not in the same league as far as I'm concerned. I think you should have kept it to yourself... How do they manage to send two anyway? Maybe the packer took a shine to your name...
Wouldn't be surprised if I'm not the only one who received 2 cookers instead of one.
I tend to buy small items from amazon and with the exception of an all in one Epson printer, the cooker was the largest, size wise. Would never buy a washing machine, or wide screen telly from the internet, as I know things can get a bit complicated if something goes wrong. Luckily enough high street retailers do offer some bargains every now and then.lisyloo wrote:If you don't like Amazons return procedure then it may be worth considering purchasing through another route e.g. a shop that you can easily get to.
Many cheap electronic goods have a high % of faulty ones (especially if was a very cheap DVD player), so I am afraid this is only to be expected.
Very true, but I do think I posted under the wrong thread...:oClasics wrote:Nothing more bargainous than summat that's free...0 -

For faulty goods you would be expected to return it whereas for unsolicited goods it's not your responsibility to return it.

I bought a cheap DVD player from Argos specifially because I knew there would be no hassle taking it back.
My problem was both my partner and I work full time, we bought from amazon because we didn't have time to go around the shops. This messing about at the post office and asking for the postage receipt back in the box was ridiculous, even the post office employees thought it was a farce. My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Id tell them that you tried the cooker out and it doesnt work/its faulty...then say you'll keep the other one as a replacement, then tell them to come and collect their shoddy goods at their own exspense! lol (course, I dont mean it, that would be dishonest! *whistle* lol)
starting to t=wonder how come Im never lucky enough to get 2 items in my aprcels from them instead of one *sigh* ( surely they should sort their staff out if they cant even count to 1????? lol)
friend of mine bought a ,originally, exspensive wardrobe from Homebase ( was over £1000) they were selling off all old stock and he got it for £99 with delivery, they delivered it, his mrs notcied a scratch down one side ( near the back of the wardrobe) rang them up and said they didnt want it no more as it looked shoddy, homebase gave them a refund, and vouchers for the inconvience caused and for them having to get rid of the wardrobe themselves as Homebase didnt want it back as it was end of stock clearence! (needless to say, they still have the wardrobe, and you cant even see the scratch on it against the wall!!!)
Some people have all the luck!! lolTatts :hello: :kisses2:0 -
