What should I do?

I think that you have done the right thing. If they want it back then they have to provide means of carriage. If they do not supply this after a period I think it is 6 - 9 months, as it was an unsolicited gift you are legally allowed to keep it with out charge.Veteran Bargain Hunter -

I'd be suprised if amazon want you to return one of them. I ordered a mash dvd box set worth about 40quid and they sent two.
Told me to keep the second one - so I stuck it on ebay!:T0 -

I agree with this too - what if you allways worked during PO opening hours? (you just happened to have a day off when they delivered) Tell them you'd have to pay someone to take it to the PO for youcharlesworth82 wrote:Why should you waste your time and money because they have made a mistake. I know they say they will pay you back but what if they dont. And as you say you will have to now go mess around down at the post office. If i was you I wouldnt bother sending it back - wait for them to get back in touch and tell them if they want it to come to your house and collect it.
They charge more than RM postage rates (if you don't go for SS) because it includes packaging and handling fees.

Have to say Amazon's response is likely to make a 'dishonest' shopper out of me if they ever sent me 2 of something when I'd only paid for one. The least they could do would be to arrange a courier to pick it up. I really think you should be asking for more than a refund of P&P what with all the time/inconvenience this will cost you.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

I had an incident a couple of years ago, when I ordered a cast-iron skillet - a big one that covers two burners of my gas cooker, not from Amazon though. When it came it was very rusty. I rang them and they said they'd send another one out and that I needed to post back the original one. I told them that I wouldn't do that because
a) it was their fault and
b) the post office is too far away, and the package weighed too much to carry.
I told them they could collect it at a mutually convenient time, and they told me it wasn't economically viable to pay a courier to collect it, and to dispose of it as I saw fit. I gave it to my sister!
It might be worth trying the same idea?0 -
i got to agree with the dont take it to the post office brigade.
they either send a courrier around for it at your convenience or after 3 months storage, you will either charge them a storage fee or will dispose of it by other means.
i had the same problem with a GHD hair straightener i got the missus for her birthday, they sent 2 out by mistake although i only paid for 1. 4 phone calls and they did nothing, i then sold them the following year for £50 which paid for her next birthday present.what is the plural of moose?

It is up to Amazon to arrange collection from you at a convenient time; not for you to send it back to them at your expense (albeit later refunded)."Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed."
