What should I do?

Last Monday night, I've ordered a Tower 7ltr Non Stick Pressure Cooker as a present for my girlfriend, from Amazon. Even though I chose the free delivery for the item, it arrived on Friday
. The box was surprisingly large. Same night took it unopened to my girlfriend house. To my surprise the box contained not one pressure cooker, but two! I only paid for one...
I think I've almost made up my mind and will be contacting amazon later on today to notify them of their mistake.
What do you think?

I'll give you a tenner for it !0

First I'd check that you haven't been charged for two, what does your invoice say? Then I'd call them and tell them of their mistake. They might tell you to keep it, and then you could sell it on honestly.0

I am honest to the point of destruction with friends and family, but if this happened to me (and I wasn't charged for it) I would keep it to give away (telling the person I gave it to!!). Amazon is a big company and the arranging to collect, etc would be costly to them anyway.0

In the past, when having a problem with some DVDs (from the US amazon) they've sent a replacement, but didn't bother to collect the item, as like you said it was going to be costly.purplemoon wrote:I am honest to the point of destruction with friends and family, but if this happened to me (and I wasn't charged for it) I would keep it to give away (telling the person I gave it to!!). I have contacted them, and awaiting for a reply. Hopefully they'll tell me to keep it, as it would cost them an arm and a leg to collect it from the Isle of Wight. We'll see.0 -

My sarcasm-o-meter just blew up after reading this!barginunter wrote:Goodness your girlfriend is lucky - not one but two romantic presents!
Well, she did mention a few weeks back that she always wanted a pressure cooker, so I thought why not...There is nothing more romantic than the gentle whistle of the pressure cooker valve!
Got a reply from their customer services. I have to send it back to them and they'll refund the postage. I'm starting to think that it would have been better not to say anything...My local post office is a nightmare as far as parcels are concerned...Yeah well, they will have to wait for a couple of weeks, as I'm off on business at the end of this week...0 -
Why should you waste your time and money because they have made a mistake. I know they say they will pay you back but what if they dont. And as you say you will have to now go mess around down at the post office. If i was you I wouldnt bother sending it back - wait for them to get back in touch and tell them if they want it to come to your house and collect it.‘It ain’t over 'til it's over’0
