Thanks, it feels that way sometimes when talking to the MIL.
(Have to talk to her as we work together, Well I work and she directs, its quite simple.)I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Is there any life left in this thread or has the OP given up?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

A family member had a private parking fine while he was using my car.
It was in on land outside a new block of flats in Salford Quays. Manchester where he was living. He had parked there for two months and no problems. Last summer,he went to work and no board was in place to say 'no parking' when he came home there was a notice slapped on his car windscreen that he had parked illegally - and there was also now a new notice which displayed 'no parking'
I wrote to complain early December, laying out the facts. I did not hear anything until mid January when I got a notice saying that my appeal was unsuccessful. Then I got a notice from Roxburghe saying that the £100 fine was now £206 and this week a letter from Graham White, Michael Sobell Solicitor saying that Central ticketing and Roxburghe were requesting payment of a Civil Parking request and that I will be taken to court .that the costs of issuing a claim will be a further £207 to inclkude Warrant fee £100. Claim issue fee (£30) Solicitors costs (£50)Solicitors costs for issuing warrant (2.25).amounting to £207.25.
Help please. The car ,as a said is my car. I did not park the car and the notice was issued after the car was initially parked in what we had assumed was a no parking sign.
please can someone guide me. I'm 76 and troubled.

For a start it's not a "fine", it's an unenforceable invoice. From now on do not contact these people again, and ignore any correspondence from the parking company, "debt collectors" or "solicitors".
You did nothing wrong and you have nor broken any laws. Just hold firm . If you want reassurance on this matter please read the other threads on here that deal with private parking tickets. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Roxburghe and G. White/M. Sobell are muppets and are well known on this forum. Ignoring them works. They will go away after two letters.0

Don't be troubled! You may get just one more letter then nothing else.
Here is a thread showing examples of private parking letterchains, all of them end with NOTHING HAPPENING. Click on the links in the first post, you will see some examples from Roxburghe and Graham White, after a few letters they go away:

NCP are exteremly well known for claiming statutory authority of the byelaws when they have none. In my opinion this would be viewed a Fraud by a court.
I am highly suspicious of their lucrative system problems.0 -
