    Dear Mom & Dad,

Our Scoutmaster told us to write to our parents in case you saw the flood on TV and are worried. We are okay. Only one of our tents and 2 sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily, none of us got drowned because we were all up on the mountain looking for Adam when it happened.

Oh yes, please call Adam's mother and tell her he is okay. He can't write because of the cast. I got to ride in one of the search and rescue jeeps. It was neat. We never would have found Adam in the dark if it hadn't been for the lightning.

Scoutmaster Rick got mad atAdam for going on a hike alone without telling anyone. Adam said he did tell him, but it was during the fire so he probably didn't hear him. Did you know that if you put gas on a fire, the gas will blow up?

The wet wood didn't burn, but one of the tents did and also some of our clothes. Matthew is going to look weird until his hair grows back.

We will be home on Saturday if Scoutmaster Rick gets the bus fixed. It wasn't his fault about the wreck. The brakes worked okay when we left. Scoutmaster Rick said that with a bus that old, you have to expect something to break down; that's probably why he can't get insurance.

We think it's a neat bus. He doesn't care if we get it dirty, and if it's hot, sometimes he lets us ride on the fenders. It gets pretty hot with 45 people in a bus made for 24. He let us take turns riding in the trailer until the highway patrol man stopped and talked to us.

Scoutmaster Rick is a neat guy. Don't worry, he is a good driver. In fact, he is teaching Jessie how to drive on the mountain roads where there aren't any cops. All we ever see up there are logging trucks. This morning all of the guys were diving off the rocks and swimming out to the rapids.

Scoutmaster Rick wouldn't let me because I can't swim, and Adam was afraid he would sink because of his cast (it's concrete because we didn't have any plaster), so he let us take the canoe out. It was great. You can still see some of the trees under the water from the flood.
Scoutmaster Rick isn't crabby like some scoutmasters. He didn't even get mad about the life jackets. He has to spend a lot of time working on the bus so we are trying not to cause him any trouble.
Guess what? We have all passed our first aid merit badges. When Andrew dove into the lake and cut his arm, we got to see how a tourniquet works.
Steven and I threw up, but Scoutmaster Rick said it probably was just food poisoning from the left-over chicken. He said they got sick that way with food they ate in prison. I'm so glad he got out and became our scoutmaster. He said he sure figured out how to get things done better while he was doing his time. By the way, what is a pedal-file?

I have to go now. We are going to town to mail our letters & buy some more beer and ammo. Don'tworry about anything. We are fine and tonight it's my turn to sleep in the Scoutmaster's tent.
    Sorry for the formatting:D

Strange thread that PAP. I can totally understand that some people don't want kids (good, there isn't enough room :p;)) but it did get a bit anti-parents in the middle.
Some of the threads over there are a bit

It is a strange thread. I 'find' these threads late at night usually, I do a 'new post' search and then get engrossed in them. Most of the time though I have either read my opinion within the thread or I don't feel I can contribute much more. I don't really know why I posted today, maybe because my situation is one that is different and not been covered within the thread Shrug_by_melonhead_emotion.gif

I must add though I love reading threads like those, mainly because I love to know others opinions/situations on things. Also as a still 'maturing' adult its nice to read some threads that I wouldnt of seen/come across in real life for a good ten years...

So maybe I am strange :rotfl:

I ordered the box with a code. Went through and 'binned' all the olive products and anything with nuts in. Not a whole lot left but enough for the free and half price box and then i'll cancel it.

I'm nutty enough without eating any more ;)

god, what am I going to fill my mind with to cover the silence of a 2.5 hour exam...............

Linda, she'd have to walk and I'm not that mean in this weather! She'll be bringing her motorbike back soon, and I'm going to be supervising her learning to drive (dad's giving her lessons and a test for xmas and her birthday) so if/when she passes her test she can come round here.

Does anyone remember those gorgeous tunic tops that were posted last week, what site were the on? Was it Debenhams?

I've just seen a very freak advert, for Vision Express. It had people with plastic eyeballs on their heads, looking through giant plastic glasses frames.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

not allowed to read etc in case a candidate needs help and I don't see them with their hand up. I'll be just sat at a desk at the front. Need to go and set it up in 5 minutes. It's a computerised book keeping exam so I really do need it to be quiet and calm - i've been told today the software used is a bit 'flakey' _pale_ Need to make sure there is plenty of printer paper and say a little prayer that the printer doesn't have a tantrum as all the submitted work has to be printed off. I am starting to regret saying yes to this already............

I like to read random threads for the same reason, I used to post in DT quite a bit.

I wish I'd never wandered down to the Weddings and Anniversarys board though - so much to do  and so expensive. Scary!
