Afternoon all, I've just popped on to give you an update on my OH.

He's stayed pretty much the same with just slight changes to his medication & ventilation but my DS has been to the hospital today and things are looking a little better (fingers crossed). They've managed to reduce Martyn's ventilation as he's breathing a bit more on his own and also they've been able to reduce his sedation for a little while. :j DS said he had his eyes open and was moving about a bit, he also had a little cry when he saw DS and was trying to talk. DS told him that DD and I would be there tomorrow and he squeezed DS's hand to show that he understood.

His nurse said they would probably increase the sedation later because he would get tired very quickly and they still want him to rest but these small signs are hopeful. He's still critical but on the good side of critical, if you know what I mean?

Obviously we still have to take each hour and day as it comes but we are holding on to each little bit of good news. We should have the toxicology results later so hopefully they may show some improvement too.

Thanks again for the kindness you've shown, it means so much to us.

Bitsy - WAS going for a scooby, but the bloke who was selling it to us, his wife crashed her car so he gave her the scooby. So i now have this beauty :D:D

We looked at Picasso's when we got rid of our Disco but my H wanted the PT Cruiser instead. Bit of a world away from the Scooby though :rotfl:

Anguk - glad to hear there is some progress with your H. Still sending lots of get better vibes your way xxx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Afternoon all.

Been MIA for a bit, as I have just been running out of time, trying to keep up with the Flylady lists and the other stuff I have to do in my few "active" hours per day.

I'm not really up to speed with everyone's events, but I gather healing vibes are needed for Anguk's OH.

Lucky for me, Mr LW is going to make veggie bangers'n'mash for dins tonight, and some time this evening I need him to help me wash my hair.

I hope everyone's having as good a Wednesday as possible.

    Evening all :)

Back from the hospital. Have a lot to think about, especially where we go from here. It's a bit too much at the moment, but I need to weigh up pros and cons and make some decisions :(

Pheasant has been cooking in the sc whilst we were at the hospital, so will be doing some rice shortly, to go with it :)

    It smells lovely :)

anguk, thatnk for the update on your OH. Hopefully things will start to improve more and more.

My throat seems even better this afternoon, so definitely on the mend.

    Evening everyone

2nd day back at work, got in to find no one in the office, it was freezing.
They have knocked down a building adj to where we are and had cut through both electric and water. Found other places to work but had to keep moving desks. Feeling tired and fed up tonight as didn't get everything done that needed to be done today due to hotdesking all day. DS2 has settled back to school ok, but not hppy that they won't let him out due to the risk of him being tripped up in te playground.

Lunch was ham sandwiches and fruit. Dinner is rest of beef casserole with jacket potato. Have made 2 weetibix cakes tonight as i tend to have a slice for breakfast.

    Welcome back MSD

    Hi everyone,

I've not posted for a few days because I've ben feeling a bit down. Mum was rushed into hospital on Friday for the second time in less than 6 months. She had to have an emergency colostomy on Sunday, which she was given very little chance of surviving considering her other health problems (she's 78). She's pretty tough though and came through it ok, so now we've just got the recovery, I just hope that she doesn't have the same setbacks dad had last year. They've now got his and hers colostomies!!

Then today I was rung by the breast screening unit - the needle biopsy was inconclusive so I've got to go tomorrow for a vacuum biopsy and then it will be another week to wait for the result. I know it isn't long and if there is anything sinister it is in the very, very early stages but I just want to know.

    Sorry, totally OT.

AngUK I hope your DH is recovering, I've been thinking of you.

I hope your mum is ok hun, she has been through it xx and I hope all goes well at the breast clinic xxx

Anguk, Hopefully thats a good sign, lets hope he continues to take little steps xx

    Pipkin, hugs to you xx
