That is because most of the 'reps' on this site are from companies PR departments who are just trying to make it look like they are helping customers.

Surely I'm not the only cynical one?

Possibly... I posted a problem with Vodafone and the agent asked me for the refs etc and I got a reply on mail the same day... just saying not ALL the reps are here for nothing but PR Especially as most would be found out and posted like this on here

A final update. I have received email confirmation this morning from BT Rep that my brother's broadband account, and the 2 'new' accounts that mysteriously appeared have been closed. A 'final invoice' should be received in next 15-20 days but this will not require payment.
