Cut and paste problem. Help please.

Suddenly I am unable to cut and paste from my wordprocessor (OpenOffice) to my email, either hotmail or yahoo.
I always use C+Ctrl for cut and V+Ctrl for paste. It still works for transferring from other sources (e.g. web pages) to email but not from the wordprocessor. I am sure I used to be able to do this... or am I imagining it?
Please could anyone help?

It's the other way around; ctrl+c for example.
btw, ctrl+c is copy not cut; that's ctrl+x
But, yes, it should work

If the problem still persists could you perhaps try reinstalling Open Office.0

Have you tried right click - copy
new doc - right click paste.
It may be that your cntrl button isnt working,
worth a try at least.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Nah, reinstalling an application because something doesn't quite work is a bit like rebuilding a house because the wall colours are not to your taste. You'd only rebuild the house if the house was knackered, not one feature of it!
There must be something going on, something fishy. Have you tried selecting the text to copy and right clicking to copy that way? If there is something wrong copy will likely be greyed out in the context menu (the menu that appears when you right-click)0 -

Nope, that doesn't work.
The Ctrl button IS working because, as mentioned, the same technique worked from other sources.
By the way, the other way round is fine - it seems I CAN copy and paste from email to wordprocessor!0 -

'Copy' is not greyed out when I do this. The function just doesn't work and this seems to be happening ONLY for pasting from wordprocessor to email.0 -
Ok, try copying and pasting into OpenOffice, itself. That way we would know it's definately openoffice that's playing up.
Beyond that, I can't help you 'cos I don't use OpenOffice!!0 -

Sorry I'm overlapping with posts!
If you can copy, but not paste, then I would think it is the destination, rather than the source, that has issues...0
