Yeah I know, normally if they're a legit company doing business they should have a company number...is this the same for sole-traders ?

Honestly not sure, I can't answer if the owner is registered as a Company or not. They're an established host on a few forums but that could mean jack

I know companies registered there have to display their company number somewhere. It's definately a good place to start to see if they're legitimate as there are a lot of sites that aren't.

Edit, here's your answer, found it on the web....

    His profile information
    Company:
    Individual Trader trading since 2001

    Web info
As a sole trader, you will not need to notify Companies House, nor deal with any administrative or accounting requirements which are required of limited companies.

Is this acceptable enough for you ?

If they are a sole trader then its legit, but has the problem that its just that, a sole trader, and your hosting is likely to suffer if their is a problem, and they are ill at the time, or if they die, no one to take over the hosting... Your site can disapear into the ether at anytime they are unable to maintain the payments or maintainance.

A limited company with more staff, will not suffer from the one man band problems...
If your not bothered that your site is at the hands of one single person renting some servers, then thats fine, but its not a chance I would take. People get ill, people die etc, and when their is only the one person in charge of it all, its a much bigger risk than when their are multiple people doing it.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

It wouldn't bother me personally but each to their own. Generally when your self employed you start off as sole-trader then LLC then a Company. It's more down to manpower. Cyberprog is a 1man show I think, I plan on progressing when I start up so going down Sole-Trader > LLC :)

I think it's cheaper as when you go LLC or Company it becomes a hassle with payments as you have to work out more I believe
